Reward Offered In Murder Of Father Of Two Shot By Stray Bullets A Block Away A reward is being offered in the shooting death of a father of two who was hit by stray bullets while celebrating at a birthday party a block away in the City of Newburgh. The homicide took place around 11:15 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 21, when an unknown person shot multiple times in the area of Liberty Street and Clinton Street, in the City of Newburgh, said City of Newburgh Police Det. Body Of LI Man Who Fell Off Boat In Great South Bay Found The body of an East Islip man who had fallen overboard from his 34-foot Fountain boat has been found. Suffolk County Police Homicide Squad detectives are investigating the death of Samuel Gutierrez, 47, whose body was found floating in the Great South Bay, just south of Timber Point, said the Suffolk County Police. The department received word of a body floating from a 911 caller around 2 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 25, police said. Gutierrez fell overboard without a life jacket around 11 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 23. Stratford Felon Recently Released From Prison Busted With Guns/Drugs, Cops Say A 34-year-old man was arrested on a warrant for drugs and illegal guns following an investigation into narcotics sales in the Stratford area. Nolan Moore, 34, was arrested on Tuesday, Sept. 24, following the investigation by the Stratford Narcotics Vice and Intel Unit, as well as the Bridgeport Police Task Force and the FBI Safe Streets Task Force, said Stratford Police Capt. Construction Vehicle Crash Closes Westport Roadway Morningside Drive South in Westport was closed in front of Greens Farms Elementary due to an accident involving a construction vehicle. A utility pole was struck during the one-vehicle crash that took place early afternoon on Wednesday, Sept. 25, said Westport Police Lt. Anthony Prezioso. 20-Year-Old, Minor Arrested Following Fairfield County Robbery Spree A 20-year-old man and a minor were arrested in connection with a robbery spree that ended following a pursuit. The incident began when Carlos Asad and a minor, both of Bridgeport, stole an SUV in Bridgeport and then robbed a woman at gunpoint at Walgreens in Fairfield, police said. Woman Nabbed Two Years After Attempting To Use Counterfeit Cash At Southampton 7-Eleven A 30-year-old woman was nabbed two years after attempting to use counterfeit cash at an area 7-Eleven. Kaylynn Dyer, of Brooklyn, was arrested on Tuesday, Sept. 24, by Southampton Police for the incident which took place in 2017, said Southampton Lt. Susan Ralph. The charges stemmed from a 2017 incident where allegedly Dyer attempted to use counterfeit bills to purchase several gift cards at 7-Eleven in Westhampton, Ralph said. ID Released For Man Critically Injured After Being Hit By Van In Westchester A man who was critically injured after being struck by a van while attempting to cross I-287 in Harrison has been identified. Diego A. Maidana, 39, of White Plains, was struck around 2:25 p.m., on Friday, Sept. 20, remains in critical but stable condition at Westchester Medical Center, said Trooper Tara McCormick of the New York State Police.
