Pedestrian Seriously Injured After Being Struck By Vehicle In Westchester A man suffered serious head and internal injuries after being hit by a car in Westchester. The incident took place around 7:40 a.m., Friday, Oct. 18, when the car traveling eastbound on Yonkers Avenue struck the man who allegedly stepped onto the roadway, said Yonkers Police Det. Lt. Dean Politopoulos. The man was reportedly struck by a woman, who police say is in her 50s. Traffic was shut down in the area for about two hours following the incident. Politopoulos said the driver remained on the scene.  The accident is under investigation.

Woman Dies After Driving Vehicle Into Hudson River, Police Say This story has been updated. A woman has died after driving her vehicle into the Hudson River in Westchester. The incident took place around 12:45 p.m., Friday, Oct. 18, near a riverside park in Verplanck, said Kieran O'Leary, spokesman for the Westchester County Police. The woman was discovered in the car in about 10 feet of water by divers from Yorktown Heights, he said.
