Officers Find Child At Home Alone After Woman Crashes Vehicle While Drunk, Greenwich Police Say
A Fairfield County woman turned herself into police on an active warrant for leaving a child alone and DUI.
Ana Dewitt, 22, of Shelton, surrendered to Greenwich Police on Friday, Dec. 6, for an incident which took place in October, the Greenwich Police said.
During the October incident, Greenwich Police responded to a vehicle crash on Pemberwick Road in which she suffered non-life-threatening injuries, police said.
While investigating the crash, officers learned that a 2-year-old child was supposed to be in her care. The child was located, alone, but unharmed, at a local residence.

ID Released For Man Killed When Car Crashes Into Parked Car, Tree In Fairfield
A man found dead inside a car following a single-vehicle crash in Fairfield County has been identified.
Steven J. Conneely, 33, of Fairfield, was found around 1:42 a.m., Saturday, Dec. 7, after the Fairfield Police Department responded to a 911 call reporting the crash, said Fairfield Police Lt. Robert Kalamaras.
According to police, Conneely was found to have crashed into a parked car and then a tree on the property of a home located at the corner of Black Rock Turnpike near Finn Street in Fairfield.
When police arrived on the scene, they found Conneely dead in the vehicle, Kalamaras said…
Teen Shot, Killed In Bridgeport Neighborhood
An 18-year-old was shot and killed in Bridgeport.
The man, Yy'quess Moore, of Bridgeport, was found shot to death around 6:15 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 8, after Bridgeport Police responded to a report of shots fired, said Terron Jones, a spokesman for the department.
When police arrived on the scene, they found Moore, lying in a driveway on Newfield Avenue with multiple gunshot wounds, said Capt. Brian Fitzgerald.
Moore was transported to Bridgeport Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Detectives processed the crime scene and are working to determine a motive for the shooting.

Three-Alarm Fire Destroys Senior Housing Complex In Northern Westchester
A three-alarm fire destroyed a senior housing complex under construction in Northern Westchester.
The blaze, which was so intense it required some 100 firefighters, was reported around 8 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 8, at 1847 Crompond Road, in Peekskill.
The Peekskill Volunteer Ambulance Corps, who also responded to the fire, said the fire was so intense and massive that embers from it were found throughout various areas of the city, including melting some items in a neighbor's yard.
