She worked four years at Hometown News as a general assignment reporter, then another two years at Spacecoast Daily in Cocoa Beach, Florida. Woman Rescued After Car Crashes Off Saw Mill Parkway Into River In Westchester A woman was rescued from her submerged vehicle in freezing water following a crash on the Saw Mill Parkway. The incident took place around 8:23 a.m., Wednesday, Dec. 18, when the Yonkers Fire Department Engine Company 310 was dispatched to a call of a motor vehicle accident on the Saw Mill River Parkway, said Deputy Chief Joseph Citrone. Police, District Attorney Asking Public For Help Locating Man Wanted For Murder New York State Police along with the Orange County District Attorney's Office are asking the public for help locating a man wanted for murder. Jamaad Murphy, 26, of Wallkill, who is charged with murder in the alleged shooting death of a man outside a town of Wallkill nightclub in November, was indicted by an Orange County grand jury, said the District Attorney's Office. Murphy allegedly fatally shot the man on Nov. 3, outside of the Made In Puerto Rico Latin Cuisine and Sports Bar, in Wallkill. Man Wanted For Alleged Sexual Assault Of Juvenile In Norwalk Extridated From South Florida A 32-year-old man has been arrested for allegedly sexually assaulting a juvenile. Eddie Gonzalez, address unknown, was arrested on Tuesday, Dec. 17, by the Norwalk Special Victim’s Unit detectives for an incident that began in October 2018, said Norwalk Police Lt. Terrence Blake. According to Blake, police began an investigation into Gonzalez after the Patrol Division received a complaint that a juvenile had been sexually assaulted. Man Arrested After Allegedly Refusing To Leave A Home, Greenwich Police Say A Fairfield County man was arrested for alleged criminal trespass and for violation of probation after police responded to a report of an "unwanted male." Jaime Barboza, 32, of Bridgeport, was arrested on Saturday, Dec. 14, after Greenwich Police responded to a home on Edgewood Avenue, said the Greenwich Police. When officers arrived at the home, the repeatedly attempted to coerce Barboza from the residence, police said. Eventually, Barboza surrendered to police and he was arrested for criminal trespass. Woman Nabbed For Heroin Possession, Driving With Suspended License In Area, Police Say A 27-year-old area woman was arrested for alleged possession of heroin and driving with a suspended license following a traffic stop. Mariah Candelario, of Late Katrine, was arrested around 10 p.m., on Monday, Dec. 16, following a stop by an Ulster County Sheriff's Office K-9 unit, said Det. Lt. Abram Markiewicz. An investigation during the stop allegedly found heroin and that Candelario's license had been suspended, police said. Former Teacher Convicted Of Endangering Welfare Of Child, Harassment A former special education teacher at a Rockland County elementary school has been found guilty of endangering the welfare of a child and harassment. Yessenia Vasquez, 46, of West Haverstraw, was convicted after trial on Tuesday, Dec. 17, said Rockland County Acting District Attorney Kevin Gilleece. One Seriously Injured In Pair Of Rhinebeck Crashes One person received life-threatening injuries in a pair of vehicle crashes in Rhinebeck. The first crash took place around 1:47 p.m., Tuesday, Dec. 17, on Slate Quarry Road, said Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office Capt. John Watterson. Police Investigating Shooting Of Two Men During Large Gathering In Area Police are investigating a shooting that injured two men during a large gathering in West Haverstraw. The incident took place around 10 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 15, outside of 25 East Railroad Ave., said Haverstraw Police Capt. Martin Lund. Officers responded immediately and on arrival found a large group of people gathered in a common driveway of a building. Pedestrian Struck By Vehicle In Area, Police Say Dutchess County Sheriff's officers are investigating a crash in which a pedestrian was hit by a vehicle in Rhinebeck.
