Man Nabbed For Stealing $10K In Tires, Rims From Area Auto Dealership, Police Say
A man accused of stealing more than $10,000 in tires and rims from an area auto dealership in 2016 has been arrested on a warrant.
Michael Farias, 54, of Providence, Rhode Island, was arrested on Monday, Feb. 3, and charged with larceny, said the Milford Police Department.
According to police, Farias was wanted on a warrant for allegedly stealing $10,000 worth of tires and rims off of four vehicles in the parking lot the Chevrolet of Milford, in Nov. 2016.
He was released on a promise to appear ticket.
Police: Restaurant Owner Attempts To Put Out Kitchen Fire Without Warning Customers, Employees
A restaurant owner was arrested after allegedly failing to warn customers or staff of a kitchen fire that he was attempting to put out himself.
The fire took place around 6:50 p.m., on Wednesday, Jan. 29, in Westport at the Little Kitchen, at 423 Post Road East, said police.
When Westport firefighters responded to the fire after being waved down by a passing motorist that flames were coming from the roof of the restaurant, Westport Police said.

Woman Arrested For Burglaries That Included $30K Theft Of Jewelry, Electronics, Wilton PD Says
A woman wanted in connection with two residential burglaries in Fairfield County that included $30,000 in jewelry and electronics being stolen, has been arrested.
Gabrielle Wallen, 36, of Orange, Connecticut, was arrested on Monday, Feb. 3, in connection with the theft that took place on June 16, 2019 in Wilton, police said.
Both burglaries took place on Horseshoe Road and Old Huckleberry Road, Wilton Police said.
The Horseshoe Road theft included the $30,000 theft of jewelry, electronics, and other items, police said.

Long Island Man Attacks Two With Large Kitchen Knife, Police Say
A Long Island man was arrested after allegedly attacking two people with a large knife during a domestic dispute.
The attack in Nassau County took place around 11 p.m., Monday, Feb. 3, in Roosevelt, said the Nassau County Police.
According to police, John Williams, 54, of Medford, was at his residence when he became involved in a verbal argument with a woman, 49, and a 50-year-old man.
During the argument, police said Williams grabbed a large knife and began to assault the two victims with the weapon causing multiple lacerations to each victim.

Two Injured, Including State Trooper, During Three-Vehicle Long Island Crash
A New York State trooper was injured during a three-vehicle crash on Long Island.
It happened around 8:53 a.m., Tuesday, Feb. 4, in Suffolk County at Express Drive South and County Road 83, in Medford, said Suffolk County Police.
According to police, an unmarked state trooper vehicle, a passenger bus, and another vehicle were involved in a crash.
The trooper and another person were transported to a local hospital for treatment of minor injuries.
Additional details regarding the crash were not available.
Two Men Nabbed For Firing Gun Out Of Vehicle Following Night Of Drinking, Police Say
Two area men were arrested for allegedly firing a gun out of a vehicle after a night of drinking.
Michael White, 31, of Seymour, and Kenneth Banks, 27, of Shelton, were arrested after turning themselves in to Shelton Police for the incident which took place on Jan. 22, said Shelton Police Det. Richard Bango.
According to Bango, Shelton Police received a complaint of shots fired in the area of Willoughby Road and Independence Drive.
When officers responded they recovered numerous spent shell casing near stop signs in the area, he said.
