Stolen Vehicle Driver Slams Into Bridgeport Police Crusier During Pursuit A suspect slammed into a Bridgeport Police vehicle during a vehicle pursuit that ended with the suspect fleeing on foot and being caught a short time later. The incident took place around 8:30 p.m., Monday, Oct. 26 when officers were attempting to make a motor vehicle stop of a black Jeep Grand Cherokee in the area of Boston Avenue, said Scott Appleby, director of Bridgeport's Office of Emergency Management. Covid-19: Officials Issue Advisories On Halloween Trick-Or-Treating In Fairfield County Officials from several Fairfield County cities and towns and cities have issued advisories for trick-or-treating on Halloween. In Stamford, Mayor David Martin announced the city is discouraging traditional Halloween trick-or-treating this year and advises residents to not participate in trick-or-treating of any kind with individuals outside your household. Convicted Felon Arrested For Accidentally Shooting Himself With Illegally-Owned Gun In Norwalk A 26-year-old convicted felon from Fairfield County has been arrested for allegedly accidentally shooting himself in September while playing with an illegally-possessed gun in his backpack. On Thursday, Sept. 24, officers were called to Norwalk Hospital for a victim suffering from a single gunshot wound, said Norwalk Police Lt. Jared Zwickler. Detectives began investigating the incident and spoke to the victim identified as Josue Saravina-Pineda of Norwalk, said Zwickler. ID Released For Victim Of Fatal Westchester Shooting The identity of a man shot dead while sitting inside a vehicle in Westchester has been released. Warren Clahar, 35, of Mount Vernon, was found Saturday, Oct. 24, shot to death while was sitting in his vehicle on South Fulton Avenue, according to News 12 Westchester. Police are still investigating the homicide, but told News 12, that while on the scene, they arrested two other people for disorderly conduct and resisting arrest. Anyone with information regarding the incident is asked to call Mount Vernon police at 914-668-6841.

Man Dies After Jumping From Parking Structure At Stamford Town Center A 48-year-old man jumped to his death after walking to the Stamford Town Center mall and jumping from the parking structure. The unidentified man, a resident of Stamford, died around 9:30 a.m., Monday, Oct. 26, after jumping from the structure and landing in a loading zone area off Edith Sherman Way, where he was discovered, said Stamford Police Capt. Richard Conklin. No foul play is expected and police believe the event will be ruled a suicide after reviewing surveillance video, Conklin said. "It's a sad event," Conklin added.

Alert Issued For Days-Long Paving, Other Work On Busy Westchester Roadway Motorists can expect delays during road work consisting of paving and curb ramp work on a busy Westchester roadway. The work is happening on Dobbs Ferry Road between Tarrytown Road and the Knollwood Road/ West Hartsdale Avenue intersection in the Town of Greenburgh beginning Monday, Oct. 26, said the Greenburgh Police Department.
