Woman Pinned Under Live Power Lines Following Crash Into Utility Pole In Area
Residents were without power for more than three hours after a woman slammed into a utility pole in the area.
The crash took place in Ulster County around 8:06 a.m., Friday, Oct. 23, when Tara Benn, 49, of Catskill, slammed into the pole in Saugerties, causing the vehicle to become binned under severed live power lines, said pole.
When officers arrived they found Benn still in the vehicle under the live power lines, said Saugerties Police Chief Joseph A. Sinagra.
Once the power had been cut, firefighters were able to free the Benn who then declined to be treated by paramedics at the scene…
Man Points Gun At Woman During Road Rage Incident In Fairfield County, Police Say
A man who allegedly threatened a woman stuck in traffic with a pistol during a road-rage incident has been arrested by police in Fairfield County.
James Laramee, 27, of Stamford, was arrested following the incident which took place on Wednesday, Oct. 21, in heavy traffic on Hope Street, said Stamford Police Capt. Richard Conklin.
According to Conklin, the 61-year-old woman called 911 around 9:20 a.m., saying a man, later identified as Laramee had just pointed a gun at her through her car window after repeatedly honking his horn at her while stuck in traffic.

Police Searching For Two Men Who Allegedly Robbed Area Market
Police are asking the public for help identifying two men, including the one pictured, who robbed an area market at gunpoint.
The incident took place around 6:50 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 20, in Ansonia, at the S&A Mart, at 95 Division St., when the two men entered the market and demanded the employee turn over all the money in the cash register, said Ansonia Police Lt. Patrick Lynch.
Several hundred dollars and store merchandise were taken during the robbery, Lynch said.

Orange County Man Admits To Stabbing Woman, Burning Down Her Home During Second Attack
An area man who had assaulted a woman and returned two days later and stabbed the woman and burned down her family's home has pleaded guilty.
Orange County resident Anthony Mahabir, 38, of the City of Newburgh, pleaded guilty in Orange County Court on Wednesday, Oct. 21, assault, arson, and criminal contempt, said the Orange County District Attorney's Office.
The plea was in connection with the stabbing of the woman on March 26 after being arrested two days earlier for assaulting the same woman, the DA's Office said.
