She worked four years at Hometown News as a general assignment reporter, then another two years at Spacecoast Daily in Cocoa Beach, Florida. Man Apprehended With Loaded Gun, Heroin After Foot Chase, Police Say An Orange County man was arrested for allegedly having a loaded semi-automatic weapon and heroin following a disturbance. The incident took place Saturday, Nov. 21, when Newburgh Police were called to the area of 48 Lake Drive for a disturbance, said the City of Newburgh Police. While officers were responding they were given a description of two black males, one wearing a white hooded sweatshirt and the other wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, police said. Car Slams Into Long Island Hotel, Flees Scene A car plowed into a Long Island hotel before fleeing the scene. The incident took place around 7:11 p.m., Monday, Nov. 23, when the vehicle struck the Lakeland Inn, at 1630 Lake Avenue, Bohemia, said the Suffolk County Police. The vehicle fled the scene and has not been caught. There were no injuries. No information was available regarding damage to the building.

Two Shot In Bridgeport Within Minutes Of Each Other Police are investigating after two people were shot in different locations in Bridgeport. The first incident took place around 7:15 p.m., Monday, Nov. 23, on Seaview Avenue that was picked up by the Bridgeport Police Department's Shot Spotter system, according to Scott Appleby, the city’s director of emergency management. Just minutes later, the system reported a shooting at the PT Barnum Apartments housing complex, Appleby said. Alert Issued For Teen Who's Gone Missing In Fairfield County The Westport Police Department is asking the public for help locating a missing teen. She is identified as Gerlyne Springer, 17, of the Westport neighborhood of Saugatuck, who was last seen on the evening of Sunday, Nov. 22. Springer's mother said her daughter briefly exited their home around 5:30 p.m., she did not return, Westport Police said. Since that time, attempts to contact her directly have been unsuccessful. Man Wanted For Stealing $180K Nabbed At Taconic Parkway Work Zone A man wanted for stealing $180,000 has been arrested during a traffic stop at a work zone in the area. Joshua C. Allen, 19, of Brooklyn, was arrested on Tuesday, Nov. 17 on the Taconic State Parkway in Putnam County as a fugitive from justice out of Bossier, Louisiana, said State Police Trooper AJ Hicks. Allen was stopped around 11:20 a.m., in a 2016 Nissan Altima for a vehicle and traffic law infraction committed in a work zone on the Taconic State Parkway in the town of Putnam Valley, Hicks said. IDs Released For Suspect, Man Shot, Killed Outside Rockland County Bar The identities of both a longtime resident Rockland County resident who was shot dead following an argument outside a local bar and the suspect have now been released. According to the Orangetown Police, Gregory Dubuisson, 35, of Nyack, was shot and killed around 7:08 p.m., Sunday, Nov. 22, said Chief Donald Butterworth. Dubuisson's body was found lying in the street after Orangetown officers responded to the area of Main and Franklin streets on a report of shots fired, the chief said. Man Badly Burned During House Fire In Area Firefighters were able to save a person trapped inside a garage while the structure was on fire. The incident took place around 1:47 p.m., on Sunday, Nov. 22, at 45 Mill Pond Road, said Stratford Assistant. Fire Chief/Fire Marshall Robert Daniel. Westchester's Pat Quinn, Co-Founder Of 'ALS Ice Bucket Challenge,' Dies At 37 Condolences are pouring in from across the world at the passing of Pat Quinn, the co-founder of the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge Quinn died of the disease on Sunday, Nov. 22, said the ALS. Foundation at the age of 37 in Yonkers. He was diagnosed in March of 2013, a month after his 30th birthday. Covid-19: Greenwich Hospital One Of Six Facilities Nationwide To Test New Treatment For Virus An area hospital is one of six nationwide that has been selected to test a new treatment for COVID-19.
