She spent 17 years at Florida Today in Melbourne, Florida as a general assignment reporter, crime reporter, entertainment reporter and restaurant critic. She worked four years at Hometown News as a general assignment reporter, then another two years at Spacecoast Daily in Cocoa Beach, Florida. She attended Eastern Florida State College in Melbourne, Florida.

Police Department In Fairfield County Makes Much-Awaited Move To New Headquarters The Newtown Police Department has finally moved into their new headquarters, a move that's been planned for some 30 years. The new building, located in the old Tauton Press building, was started on Nov. 18, 2019, just a year from the move-in date.  The new 25,000-square-foot building cost $15 million and came in under budget. The building is almost three times the size of the older one, making it easier for officers to do their jobs.  It features a larger, modern communications and dispatch center as well as a gym and locker room for officers. Area Woman Accused Of Violating Protective Order An area woman has been arrested for allegedly violating a stay-away order of protection and becoming involved in a family dispute. Ulster County resident Katherine Moreira, 40, of Saugerties, was arrested on Monday, Nov. 23, after Saugerties Police responded to a call for a domestic in progress at the Skyline Drive Apartments in the Town of Saugerties, said Chief Joseph Sinagra. Henry Torrez Valerio, 50, of Copiague, was arrested Saturday, in North Babylon on Saturday, Nov. 21, around 4:15 p.m., after being stopped driving a 2005 Honda CRV westbound on Prairie Drive and failed to signal at the intersection of Chuck Boulevard, Suffolk County Police said.  During the stop, the officer checked Valerio’s license and found that it had been suspended 23 times on 14 different dates,  Suffolk County Police said. Massage Therapist Sexually Touches Client At Long Island Spa, Police Say Police arrested an area man for allegedly inappropriately sexually touching a female client during a massage at a Long Island spa. The department said Zhiaqiang Wang, 43, of Flushing, was arrested on Sunday, Nov. 22, at 7:05 p.m. in East Meadow. According to police, Wang, while employed at the Foot Heaven Spa located at 2207 Hempstead Turnpike allegedly inappropriately touched the 26-year-old woman during the massage.   The victim contacted the police Wang was charged with forcible touching and sexual abuse; he was arraigned in Mineola.
