Fire Breaks Out At Marriott Hotel On Long Island A small fire at a Marriott Hotel on Long Island was contained to one room. The fire began around 4:47 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 6, at the hotel, located near the Nassau Coliseum at 101 James Doolittle Blvd., in Uniondale, said the Nassau County Police. The "small" fire was contained to a room on the third floor and no one was injured, police said. Several people were displaced and were being helped by the American Red Cross.  The cause of the fire is under investigation.

Two From Fairfield County Killed In Wrong-Way, Head-On Crash Two young men were killed during a double-fatal wrong-way crash in Fairfield County.  Kyle Jackson, 28, of Stratford, and Tyler Field Stevens, 22, of Shelton, were killed around 2:19 a.m., Sunday, Dec. 6 on Route 25 in Bridgeport, said the Connecticut State Police. According to police, Jackson was driving southbound on Route 25 in the right lane, while Stevens was traveling in the wrong direction on the roadway (northbound) in the southbound lane at the same time. Ronald Warren, 55, of Hamden, was arrested on Tuesday, Dec. 1, after Milford Police responded to the Walmart at 1265 Boston Post Road, on the report of a shoplifting, Milford Police said. An investigation led to his arrest for allegedly stealing $450 worth of merchandise, police said. Warren was charged with larceny and released on a promise to appear notice.
