Large House Fire In Fairfield County Has Closed Roadway A large house fire in Fairfield County has closed a busy roadway in the area. The Monroe Fire Department was called to the scene of the fire around 10:24, Wednesday, Dec. 9, at 138 Hattertown Road in Monroe. First arriving units found the home fully engulfed in flames, said Lt. Stephen Corrone, of the Monroe Police Department. In order to allow for emergency vehicles, Hattertown Road is currently closed in the area, he added.
