Body Found At Reservation In Westchester A 35-year-old man was found dead at a reservation in Westchester early Friday morning. The man, who was staying at the Volunteers of America homeless shelter on the Grassland Reservation in Valhalla, was found around 4 a.m. after leaving the facility, according to Kieran O'Leary, spokesman for the Westchester County Police. Clarkstown PBA Reaches New Five-Year Contract The Town of Clarkstown and the Clarkstown PBA ratified an agreement for a new contract Thursday, creating a new five-year deal covering 2018 through 2022. Driver Falls Asleep, Takes Out Route 17 Telephone Pole In Ramapo A driver told police officers responding to a one-vehicle crash that took out a telephone pole on Route 17 in Sloatsburg that he fell asleep behind the wheel.The crash, which occurred Thursday night, happened when the vehicle left the roadway, struck and severed the pole and came to rest back on the roadway, Ramapo Police said. The unidentified driver was wearing a seatbelt and was not injured, police added.  The roadway was closed for a short time to clear the debris and remove the car.

Woman Found Dead Inside Car At Nyack Beach State Park A 48-year-old woman was found dead inside her vehicle at Nyack Beach State Park by the Clarkstown Police. The unidentified woman's body was found around 1:38 p.m. Thursday with a an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound, said Dan Keefe, deputy public information officer for the State Park Police.  The investigation is continuing with assistance from the Rockland County Sheriff’s Office.
