Man Dies In Front Of Store At Mount Kisco Target, Stop & Shop Plaza Shoppers and employees of stores at the Target and Stop & Shop Plaza in Mount Kisco were concerned when a man collapsed in front of the Great Clips store. Westchester County Police said the man had a stroke around 2 p.m. Tuesday and died. Police and the Westchester County Coroner's Office are on the scene. There was no criminal activity, police said. Further information, including the man's age, place of residence and age, have not been released.

Wallkill Man, 27, Killed After Crashing Into Pole On Route 300 A 27-year-old man was killed in an early morning crash after losing control of his vehicle and hitting a utility pole, according to Town of Newburgh Police. Christopher Page, 27, of the Hamlet of Wallkill, was traveling north on Route 300 at 6:45 a.m. Monday, when he failed to negotiate a curve and hit a utility pole at the intersection of Union Avenue, said Lt. James Nenni. Page was pronounced dead at the scene by a member of the Orange County Medical Examiner’s Office, Nenni added. Nenni said that Page was alone and that no other vehicles were involved. Ex-Ramapo Attorney Troodler Receives Probation Disbarred Ramapo attorney Aaron Troodler was handed a sentence of 18 months of supervised release and a $20,000 fine Tuesday in exchange for his testimony against former Ramapo Supervisor Christopher St. Lawrence. U.S. District Court Judge Cathy Seibel, who imposed the sentence early in the morning, also ruled the former town attorney must pay at least $15,000 of the fine up front, then $550 a month until the debt is paid. Two Hospitalized After Route 116 Crash In North Salem Two people were injured in a two-vehicle crash on Monday in North Salem after one of the drivers slid on snow and crossed the double-yellow line, according to Town of North Salem Police Chief Thomas Howley. The crash took place around 2:16 p.m. on Titicus Road (Route 116) in the area of Wallace Road, Howley said. Howley said the snow caused the driver to slid over the double-yellow line, crashing into another vehicle. Two people were transported to local hospitals with non-life threatening injuries, he added.

Village Of Florida Woman Killed In House Fire A 69-year-old Orange County woman was killed in an early morning fire that swept through her single-family home, according to Town of Warwick Police. The fire, which started around 1:20 a.m. Monday at 129 Hunt Drive in the Village of Florida section of Warwick, was already fully involved when police and fire officials arrived with smoke and flames visible from the windows, said Lt. Ramapo Police Dispatcher Calls It A Career Ramapo police officers and department employees sent Dispatcher Mary Steinberger into retirement in style Thursday with a celebration complete with gifts and a plaque. Steinberger has worked for the Town of Ramapo Police Department since March of 1994, serving the Ramapo community for over 23 years. Illegal Immigrant Loses Appeal In Wife's Christmas Eve Murder In Mahopac An illegal immigrant from Ecuador who was convicted of brutally murdering his teenage wife in Mahopac on Christmas Eve in 2010 has lost an appeal of his conviction. Paul Amay, now 32, pleaded guilty to second-degree murder in Nov. 2011 for killing 19-year-old Mahopac High School grad Gloria Zhingri in an apartment attached to her parents home. Astorino Deputy Named Chief Of Staff In Clarkstown A high-profile member of Westchester County Executive Rob Astorino's inner circle has been hired by Clarkstown Supervisor George Hoehmann as his chief of staff and director of finance.
