Danbury Woman Charged With Illegal Alcohol, Cigarette Sales An enterprising Danbury woman found herself in cuffs after cops caught onto to her illegal alcohol and cigarette sales. Vera Ribeiro-Menezes, 63, was arrested Friday for a variety of criminal offenses associated with illegal alcohol and cigarette sales at her Danbury home, said Danbury Police Det. Lt. Mark Williams. Erratic Driving Leads To DWI Charge, Westport Police Say A Fairfield County woman was busted for DWI after Westport Police watched as she drove erratically, nearly striking several vehicles.Kimberly Benoit, of Shelton, was spotted by an officer around 1:30 a.m. Friday traveling north on Riverside Avenue. According to police, Benoit was driving erratically and nearly struck several parked cars. Former Employee Charged In Poughkeepsie Restaurant Burglary A Hyde Park man was nabbed for breaking into a Town of Poughkeepsie restaurant and bar where he formerly worked. Richard M. Pregnant Woman, Teen Identified As Fairfield County Fatal Crash Victims A pregnant woman and an 18-year-old killed during a two-car crash in Fairfield County have been identified. Briana Torres-Carter, 23, of Bridgeport, who was pregnant, and Shalymar Herrera, 18, of West Haven were pronounced dead at the scene of a two-car crash on Sunday in Shelton, said Lt. Robert Kozlowsky. Both were passengers in a Mini Cooper that was being operated by Torres-Carter's husband, 19-year-old Lawrence Carter of Bridgeport, Kozlowsky said. Bridgeport Man ID'd As Victim In Fatal Stratford Crash A Bridgeport man has been identified as the victim in a one-car fatal crash on Lordship Boulevard near Access Road in Stratford. Dawaan Edwards, 20, has been identified as the passenger who was killed around 12:18 a.m. Friday, said Stratford Police Capt. Frank Eannotti. Two Killed In Fairfield County Crash Two people were killed and at least two others were transported to an area hospital following a two-vehicle crash in Fairfield County. The crash, which occurred around 7 p.m. Sunday in the area of 661 River Road in Shelton, closed the road, also known as Route 110, for several hours as police investigated the crash. Westchester Woman Charged With DWI After Mercedes Vehicle Violations Stop A 49-year-old Westchester woman was charged with DWI following a traffic stop by New York State Police. Antoinette L. Williams of Mount Vernon was arrested around 9:30 p.m. Tuesday after being stopped in her Mercedes 350 on Route 17 in the Town of Mamakating for various traffic violations, said Trooper Steven Nevel, spokesman for the New York State Police. Bridgeport Search Warrant Yields Mulitple Weapons, Drugs A Bridgeport man was arrested following a search of his apartment that turned up multiple weapons and drugs following an investigation by the Statewide Urban Violence Cooperative Crime Control Task Force. Kareem Porter, 18, was arrested around 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, following the search in which detectives seized three 9mm handguns, a Tri-Star, Glock 17 and an FNP.
