She spent 17 years at Florida Today in Melbourne, Florida as a general assignment reporter, crime reporter, entertainment reporter and restaurant critic. She worked four years at Hometown News as a general assignment reporter, then another two years at Spacecoast Daily in Cocoa Beach, Florida. She attended Eastern Florida State College in Melbourne, Florida.

School Bus Hits Utility Pole In Town Of Poughkeepsie Town of Poughkeepsie police are on the scene of a school bus crash with reported injuries. The crash occurred just before 9 a.m. Wednesday at 2429 New Hackensack Road, Town of Poughkeepsie Police said. Few details were available at this point, including which school the bus served. First responders report the minibus struck a pole, which snapped in half. Police are requesting motorists avoid the area until the roadway is cleared, police said. This is a developing story. Police: Health Aide Stole $100K Worth Of Rings From Fairfield County Woman A local home health care aide was arrested for ripping off several rings worth more than $100,000 from a woman in her care, according to Stratford Police. Nicole Passander, 32, of Ansonia was arrested Friday for felony larceny following an investigation into the thefts, said Capt. Frank Eannotti. According to Eannotti, the thefts were reported in March and a warrant was issued after the investigation led police to Passander. Man Charged With Sexually Assaulting Trumbull Teen After Giving Her A Ride A West Haven man was charged with sexually assaulting a 16-year-old girl after she told a family member about the assault. William Gordon, 38, was charged with first-degree sexual assault after being arrested Monday at Milford Superior Court where he was appearing on an unrelated matter, said Lt. Keith Golding. Golding said on Feb. 18, Gordon, who is known to the family, was giving a ride home to the girl after she had been visiting his home. Man Charged With Horrific Killings Of Cat, Kitten In Hudson Valley An Orange County man has been indicted for aggravated cruelty to animals for putting a cat and a kitten in a cage and setting them on fire, according to Orange County District Attorney David Hoovler. According to the DA's Office, Dee Jay Atkins, 55, of Newburgh, was arraigned Thursday, for an incident that took place in August in which he doused a cat and a kitten, who were in a cage, with lighter fluid and set them on fire, killing them. Man Found Dead On I-84 May Have Been Unknowingly Hit By Truck, Police Say Connecticut State Police say the man found dead on I-84 may have been unknowingly hit by a passing truck or tractor-trailer. Daniel "Danny" Crawford Jr., 32, was found around 1 a.m. Saturday, Connecticut State police said. Car Ignites After Illegal Dutchess County Brush Fire After an illegally set brush fire spread to a car, sending it into flames, residents across the area are being warned not to burn any brush until a ban is lifted in May. The fire broke out around 12:40 p.m. Monday in the area of Sylvan Lake Road in the town of Beekman, according to Lt. Shawn Castano of the Dutchess County Sheriff's Office.
