Prescription Drug Take Back Scheduled For Greenburgh The Town of Greenburgh Police Department, in support of National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day on Saturday, would like to remind residents and visitors that the department's lobby offers a drop box container for the safe disposal of prescription drugs. Drop Off Unused, Unwanted Medication In Stamford With an opioid epidemic crippling many across the country, Stamford health and law enforcement officials are encouraging residents to get rid of old or unused medicine during the annual "Drug Take-Back Day" event on Saturday. The event, which is a free anonymous and environmentally safe way to dispose of unwanted and unused medications, will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Stamford Police Department, 805 Bedford St. Those taking part won't even have to get out of their vehicle by using a convenient drive-thru box. No liquids or needles will be accepted.

Two Seriously Injured In Five-Vehicle I-95 Crash Connecticut State Troopers are saying it is a miracle no one was killed when a tractor-trailer slammed into the rear of a Toyota on I-95, causing a chain reaction crash with three other tractor-trailers. The crash occurred around 12:20 a.m. Tuesday near exit 43 in West Haven, when the last tractor-trailer did not slow down in time for construction, slamming into the small car, said state police. Reward Offered For Arson Fire At Old Hudson River Psychiatric Center This story has been updated. A $5,000 reward is being offered by developers of the old Hudson River Psychiatric Center to find out who intentionally set a four-alarm fire that Fairview firefighters are still monitoring for hot spots, said Fairview Fire District Chief Christopher Maeder. Two-Vehicle Crash Involving Tractor-Trailer Causes Delays In Orange County Traffic on I-84 is now moving freely following an early morning crash between a tractor-trailer and a car that caused delays during the commute, according to state police. The incident occurred around 7:23 a.m. Friday near the Maybrook exit, just east of Exit 5, police said. Fairfield County Man Accused Of Embezzling $80K From Auto Dealer A 34-year-old Fairfield County man was busted for embezzling more than $80,000 from a local car dealership, according to the Hamden Police. Jevene Wright of Bridgeport was arrested Monday, April 23, following an investigation into a report of embezzlement at Partyka Chevrolet, at 200 Skiff St., last November, said Capt. Ronald Smith.
