Several People Rescued After Car Crashes Near Reservoir In Carmel Multiple first responders were able to save several people from serious injury after a car crashed into an embankment near a reservoir in Carmel with the occupants still inside. Town Of Poughkeepsie Tracking Dog Receives Certification The Town of Poughkeepsie Police canine team Officer Vanja Mikelic and K-9 Kyle have been awarded the title of Police Tracking Dog. The team received the certification after testing with the Eastern Police Canine Association, one of the most difficult given by any K-9 organization, said Capt. Kevin Faber.  To earn the certification, the team must complete a mentally and physically challenging course. Poughkeepsie Woman Arrested For Violating Protective Order A Poughkeepsie woman was arrested for violating a protective order after police received a complaint from the victim. Karen A. Rendon, 23, was arrested on Tuesday, after Town of Poughkeepsie Police received notice from the victim that Rendon has come to her residence on Friday, June 22 while the order was in effect, said Capt. Kevin Faber. The investigating officer located Rendon on Tuesday and charged her with felony criminal contempt, he said. She was arraigned and remanded to the Dutchess County Jail on $10,000 cash bond or $20,000 bond.

Man Nabbed For Violating Protective Order In Town Of Poughkeepsie A 27-year-old man was nabbed by police for violating a protective order after being stopped for riding a stolen bike. Marlin A. Baker of Poughkeepsie was charged with felony criminal contempt on Thursday, June 21, after Town of Poughkeepsie Police received a complaint of three individuals riding bikes on Main Street that had been stolen from the caller, said Capt. Washington Heights Assistant Fire Chief Todd Gray said the fire started around 2:43 a.m. Friday and destroyed everything but the shell of the building. Stratford Beaches Will Be Closed Friday Put away the bathing suits. The beaches in Stratford are closed Friday, June 29 for swimming due to all of the recent rain and concerns about bacteria. Town officials said the beaches are closed for precautionary measures after receiving more -than 1 inch of rain Thursday.
