Hudson Valley Man Admits To Burning Cat, Kitten To Death An Orange County man has pleaded guilty to animal cruelty and bail-jumping after he burned a kitten and a cat to death in a cage. Shooting Victim In Critical Condition, Poughkeepsie Police Say A 27-year-old man shot during a dispute on Main Street is in critical condition, according to the City of Poughkeepsie Police Department. The shooting took place around 6:37 p.m. Sunday, July 1 at 644 Main St., said Det. Sgt. Sean Fitzgerald.   The unidentified man was taken to MidHudson Regional Hospital in a private car with serious injuries and underwent surgery, Fitzgerald said.  Early Monday, the man was listed in critical but stable condition. Haverstraw Police Detective Calls It A Career After more than 30 years on duty, the Haverstraw Police Department said goodbye Friday to one of their most beloved officers, Detective Eleuterio "Terry" Collazo.
