Dozens Of Malnourished Goats Seized From Hudson Valley Farm Twenty-seven goats and a calf were within days of death when found by Hudson Valley SPCA officials on an Orange County farm after receiving a complaint. The goats were discovered after Gene Hecht, chief of the Hudson Valley SPCA’s Humane Law Enforcement Division, applied for a warrant to raid the farm in the Town of Goshen after investigating. Dutchess County health officials confirmed Tuesday that a case of the Powassan virus, a rare but potentially serious disease, has been found in a Dutchess County resident. 15-Year-Old Charged After Car Stolen In Stamford Turns Up In Greenwich A 15-year-old was nabbed in a stolen vehicle after police responded to a call of a suspicious vehicle. The unidentified teen was arrested around 3:12 a.m. Monday after Greenwich Police investigated a complaint of a suspicious, possibly stolen vehicle on River Road at Post Road in Cos Cob, Greenwich Police said. Retaining Wall Collapses, Tumbles Into Roadway In Ossining Main Street in Ossining is still closed to traffic following the collapse of a 40- to 50-foot-tall retaining wall that tumbled into the roadway, bringing part of a business along with it. The incident took place around 7:30 p.m. Monday at 100 Main St., near the heart of downtown Ossining, said the Ossining Police Department. Man Driving Drunk Plows Into Patrol Cruiser On I-95, Police Say A 28-year-old man driving drunk hit the back of a Connecticut State Trooper cruiser on I-95 that was stopped to help another driver, according to state police. The crash occurred around 8 p.m. Friday when Douglas Alqueza of East Lyme was traveling northbound on I-95 near Old Lyme when he hit a set of flares set out by the trooper and then slammed into the back of the cruiser, said the Connecticut State Police. New Round Of Stratford Larcenies From Vehicles Reported A new rash of larcenies from vehicles in Stratford has resulted in police again warning residents to lock their vehicles and remove valuables. Over the weekend, eight unlocked vehicles had items removed and one was stolen in the Second Hill Lane area of town said Stratford Police Capt. Frank Eannotti. Police Searching For Assailants In Stabbing Of Good Samaritan At Nyack Restaurant An Orangetown man who was coming to the aid of a woman being hit at a Nyack restaurant ended up in the hospital with three stab wounds. Woman Hits Gas Instead Of Brake, Ends Up In Pool, Police Say A woman who thought she was hitting the brake on her vehicle, but instead hit the gas, ended up at the bottom of a clubhouse pool, police said.
