House Fire Breaks Out At Building In Northern Westchester Volunteers with the Peekskill Ambulance Corps helped with two Westchester County fires over the past week, including one at an abandoned house.The fire, at 928 Second St., in Peekskill, broke out about 5 a.m. Thursday, officials said. Man Killed After Vehicle Crashes Down Embankment In Southbury A 43-year-old man was killed following a single-vehicle crash earlier in the week, according to the Connecticut State Police. The victim of the crash, which occurred around 9 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 15 on Purchase Brook Road in Southbury, has been identified as Dermont Daly of Roxbury, said state police. Man Who Shoplifted From Shop Rite Caught With Heroin, Stony Point PD Says A 43-year-old man wanted for shoplifting from a local Shop Rite was nabbed with heroin when he was arrested.  Jason Rees of Haverstraw was arrested around 4:15 p.m. Tuesday when the Stony Point Police Department received a complaint from an employee of the Shop Rite of a larceny at the store, said Lt. Truck Slams Into Train Overpass In Fairfield County For the second time this summer, a tractor-trailer has hit the top of a railroad overpass in Fairfield County. The latest incident took place around 6:30 a.m. Tuesday in Greenwich at the Steamboat Road railroad overpass, said Greenwich Police.
