Kathy Reaks has worked as a reporter in the local news business since 1984, starting as a news clerk and working her way up. She spent 17 years at Florida Today in Melbourne, Florida as a general assignment reporter, crime reporter, entertainment reporter and restaurant critic. She worked four years at Hometown News as a general assignment reporter, then another two years at Spacecoast Daily in Cocoa Beach, Florida. She attended Eastern Florida State College in Melbourne, Florida.

NY Air Show Coming To Area This Weekend Airplane buffs will want to head to Stewart International Airport in Orange County this weekend to get a head-spinning thrill during the 2018 New York Air Show.The event runs Saturday, Sept. 15, and Sunday, Sept. 16, with gates opening at 9 a.m at the airport in New Windsor. This year's lineup will feature the U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds as the headliner followed by more than 15 different military and civilian performers. Family member Gissell Alarcon said Katy Ordonez-Garces of Fishkill was found late Friday afternoon safe and unharmed. She was last heard from around 10 a.m. Thursday when she spoke with a family member, saying she had a horrible headache, said Alarcon. Intruder Shot By Homeowner In Fairfield County A Fairfield County resident shot a man who he says was an intruder at his home, according to police. The incident took place around 8:30 p.m. Thursday when a woman called 911 to report that her husband had just shot the person at their home, said Av Harris, spokesman for the Bridgeport Police. The 22-year-old man apparently left the area, and then called the police himself around 15 minutes later to say he had been shot, police said. 37-Year-Old Charged After Falling Through Window Of Popular Sports Bar In Area A 37-year-old man was arrested after falling through the front window of a popular sports bar in the area. Toy Christiansen was arrested Wednesday after police responded to the Crush Sports Bar, 1015 Bridgeport Ave., for a report of property damage, said Milford Officer Joseph Dempsey. When officers arrived on the scene they found that Christiansen, a Seymour resident, had damaged the window after falling into it, he said. He was charged with criminal mischief and released on a promise to appear ticket.

Christopher Evers, of North Salem, was stopped around 1:20 a.m. Friday, Sept. 7, on Route 7 in the area of Blue Ridge Road for failing to display registration, said the Wilton Police Department. During the stop, Evers was found to be driving a Toyota minivan with an expired NY temporary plate and no insurance. Ben Klein of Monsey was indicted by a grand jury on eight counts of offering false information for filing for not properly maintaining a fire alarm at a restaurant in the village of Spring Valley, said the Rockland County District Attorney's Office. The fight broke out around 11:40 p.m. Wednesday on the campus of the Graham School at 1 South Broadway, in Hastings-on-Hudson, near the Odel Cottage, according to Hastings-on-Hudson Police Lt.
