Fire Breaks Out At Recycling Center In Stamford Flames broke out in a large pile of garbage at the Stamford recycling center that was packed to rafters with refuse waiting to be moved.  Firefighters received the call for a large pile of burning garbage at the station, located at 61 Taylor Reed Place, around 3:22 a.m. Thursday, said Stamford Fire Capt. Car Crashes Into Home In Sloatsburg A car smashed into the front of a home in Sloatsburg after the driver lost control, according to the Ramapo Police Department. The incident took place around 6:30 a.m. Thursday at Post Road and Route 17 in Sloatsburg, police said. The car crashed through a rock wall, a fence and into the front steps of the home before landing on the side of the porch, officials said. Police reported there were no injuries. Staatsburg Woman Rescued From Garbage Chute After Getting Stuck Headfirst A woman was rescued from a garbage chute after she became stuck headfirst. The incident and rescue took place around 8 a.m. Thursday on Anderson School Road, Hyde Park Police confirmed. The woman, who was stuck head first between the second and third floors was extricated by a technical rescue crew from the Roosevelt Fire Department, officials said. Danbury Motorist Arrested On Active Warrant On I-95 In Greenwich A Danbury man wanted on at least two warrants was arrested after being pulled over for a traffic violation. Edwin Gonzalez-Martinez, 26, was pulled over on I-95 by Greenwich Police early Friday for a traffic violation. When the officer ran a criminal background check, he found Gonzalez-Martinez was wanted on active warrants, said a Greenwich Police arrest report. According to court records, Gonzalez-Martinez has numerous charges related to driving,  missing court appearances, and vehicle infractions in Danbury. Woman Wanted In Connection With Alleged ID Theft Do you know her?  The Milford Police Department is asking the public for help in identifying the woman pictured in connection with an alleged identity theft case. In September, the police department began an investigation into the case after the woman pictured allegedly used a stolen identity to open credit card accounts at multiple stores in the Meriden, Trumbull, and Stamford malls, said Officer Joseph Dempsey. Police Locate Driver Who Approached Student In Dutchess County Following a warning Tuesday to parents of the Spackenkill School District about a person who asked a student to get inside a white van, police say they have located the vehicle and the driver. Police determined that the register found on Sunday was from the Redwood Inn, 341 Naugatuck Ave., said Milford Officer Joseph Dempsey. Mosquitoes With Encephalitis Found In State For the first time this year, the state Mosquito Management Program announced it has found mosquitoes that have tested positive for the Eastern equine encephalitis virus.  The Eastern equine encephalitis (EEE) positive mosquitoes were trapped in Hampton on Sept. 19 and North Stonington on Sept. 26, the program said.
