She spent 17 years at Florida Today in Melbourne, Florida as a general assignment reporter, crime reporter, entertainment reporter and restaurant critic. She worked four years at Hometown News as a general assignment reporter, then another two years at Spacecoast Daily in Cocoa Beach, Florida. Suspect In Robbery, Stabbing Nabbed In Danbury A 21-year-old man was nabbed by a plainclothes detective shortly after he stabbed another man during a heated argument in Danbury. Gabriel Silba of Danbury was arrested around 12:30 p.m. Tuesday in the area of 345 Main St. by the Danbury Police Department for charges stemming from a violent crime, which was witnessed by a plainclothes detective, said Danbury Police Det. Measles Cases Hit 43 In Rockland As the number of measles cases continues to rise across Rockland County with at least 43 confirmed cases reported, and 10 suspected cases, county health officials have scheduled additional free measles vaccine clinics. In addition, Dr. Patricia Schnabel Ruppert's, Rockland's health commissioner, has ordered all unvaccinated students in "private schools" in New Square, Monsey, and Spring Valley to stay home. Police On Hunt For Westchester Home Break-In Suspect Police are on the hunt for the person or people who broke into a Westchester County home. The break-in took place around 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at a home on Bonaventure Avenue in Ardsley, said the Ardsley Police. Police said the department is still investigating the break-in and are waiting for a complete list of items taken from the home. There were no reported injuries. Car Crashes Into Storefront Of Busy Northern Westchester Market A car drove into the storefront of a busy market early Thursday afternoon, sending shoppers scrambling in Northern Westchester. The incident took place around 12:08 p.m. when an elderly man drove into the front of Cole's Market at 2147 Albany Post Road in Montrose, said State Police spokesman AJ Hicks. Hicks said the incident is under investigation, but there are no known injuries. The building department is on the scene to check for structural damage. This is a developing story. Anti-Semitic Graffiti Scrawled On Jewish Family's Home Under Construction In Putnam The Putnam County Sheriff's Office is investigating a possible hate crime that took place in the Village of Nelsonville. A Jewish family building a home in the village, a hamlet of Cold Spring, found swastikas and hate speech spray-painted on the home's walls and at the construction site. A spokesperson for the Putnam County Sheriff's Office confirmed the incident and said it is in the early stages of determining if the incident is a hate crime. Fatal Crash Update: I-95 Stretch Reopens After Hourslong Closure Update, 3:15 p.m. Thursday The stretch of northbound I-95 in Milford that was closed for around seven hours due to a fatal crash has now reopened. Halloween Night Fire Destroys Two Vehicles, Garage In Westport Two cars and a garage were destroyed during an intense fire in Westport on Halloween night. The Westport Fire Department received multiple calls for a reported house fire in the area of Sherwood Drive around 11:12 p.m. Wednesday, said the Westport Fire Department on Facebook. Woman Killed, Man Seriously Injured In Halloween Night Bridgeport Shooting A woman was killed and a man seriously injured in an overnight shooting on Halloween Night in Bridgeport. The shooting took place around 11 p.m. Wednesday in front of 848 Maplewood Ave., said Av Harris, spokesman for the Bridgeport Police When officers arrived on scene they found two victims, a 41-year-old woman, and a 28-year-old male.
