Man Stole Relative's Credit Card To Make Purchases In Haverstraw, Police Say A 43-year-old Stony Point man is facing multiple charges after alleging making purchases with a credit card stolen from a relative. Phillip DeSimone, 43, was arrested around 1 p.m. Wed., Oct. 31, for grand larceny and criminal possession of stolen property after stealing a relative's credit card to make unauthorized purchases in Haverstraw, said Stony Point Police Lt. Daniel Hylas. He was released on his own recognizance and is scheduled to appear in court on Dec. 4.

Newly Released Stats Show Increase In Auto Thefts, Larcenies From Vehicles In Greenwich Greenwich Police said new stats show that an increase in the number of motor vehicle thefts is up this year. To date there have been 52 reported car thefts, said Greenwich Police Lt. Landlord Charged After Confrontation With Tenants, Shelton Police Say A 65-year-old landlord was arrested for breach of peace following a confrontation with the tenants of a property he owns. Gabor Pernyeszi of Shelton was arrested on Monday following an incident in which he yelled at the tenants of the property he owns on Erna Avenue, said Milford Police Lt. Robert Kluk. The victims told police that Pernyeszi came onto the property and began yelling at them about work done on the property, police said. Pernyeszi was charged with breach of peace and released on a promise to appear ticket. He is scheduled to appear in court on Dec. 4.

Woman Nabbed Attempting To Smuggle Drugs Into Fishkill Correctional Facility, Police Say A 48-year-old woman was nabbed trying to smuggle drugs into the Fishkill Correctional Facility, according to state police. Diana Guzman of the Bronx was arrested on Saturday, Nov. 3, for attempting to bring 18.3 grams of synthetic marijuana, and 85 sublingual suboxone strips into Fishkill Correctional Facility, said New York State Police Trooper AJ Hicks. Man Faces DWI Charge After One-Car Crash In Stony Point A 53-year-old local man was charged with driving while intoxicated after a one-car crash. Kevin Schmoeger of Stony Point was arrested at 3:48 p.m. Wed., Oct. 31, after the crash on Reservoir Road, said Stony Point Police Lt. Daniel Hylas. Once on the scene, an officer found that Schmoeger was intoxicated, according to Hylas. He provided a breath sample, which indicated a blood alcohol content of .08 or above the legal limit, Hylas said. He was charged with DWI and released on his own recognizance and is scheduled to appear in court on Nov. 15.

Man Falsely Reports Vehicle Theft After Crash, Police Say A 29-year-old area man was arrested after he allegedly falsely reported a car theft after crashing the vehicle.  Robert Wilkinson of Milford was arrested on Monday after police received a report of a vehicle theft, said the Milford Police. During an investigation, police found that Wilkinson had crashed the vehicle the night before and reported the vehicle stolen in order to cover it up. He was charged with false report of theft.  Wilkinson was given a $500 bond and is scheduled to appear in court on Dec. 4.
