She worked four years at Hometown News as a general assignment reporter, then another two years at Spacecoast Daily in Cocoa Beach, Florida. Man 'Violently Resists Arrest' After Parking Boot Placed On Jeep In Nyack, Police Say A 58-year-old Nyack man was arrested after violently resisting police and making a scene at City Hall after a parking boot was placed on his vehicle. Erik J. Sprauer was charged with criminal mischief, resisting arrest, disorderly conduct and other charges on Friday, Nov. 2, by Orangetown Police. Traffic Stop Leads To Arrest Of Wanted Stamford Man In Wilton A 30-year-old Stamford man was nabbed by police on an outstanding warrant after he was stopped for a traffic violation. Irvin Gonzalo Navas-Barillas was arrested on Monday by Wilton Police after he was stopped on Danbury Road when he was seen exiting a business area with his brake and plate lights out, said Lt. Robert Kluk. Once stopped, officers found that Navas-Barillas was wanted on an active Prawn warrant issued in 2009 by Stamford Superior Court for failure to appear on a negligent pedestrian charge, police said. Gas Station Customer Attacked With Ax Handle By Suspect Now At Large Do you know him? Police are asking for help identifying the man who attacked a customer at an area gas station with an ax, said the Hamden Police Department. The incident took place around 4:30 p.m., Friday, Nov. 9, at the Gulf Gas Station, at 1624 Dixwell Ave., said the Hamden Police. Man Charged With Taking Illicit Videos, Photos Up Women's Skirts In Area, Police Say A 73-year--old area man was arrested for allegedly using his cell phone to take photos and videos of women wearing dresses or skirts or "upskirting." Donald P. Fegan of Millbrook was charged Friday, Nov. 9, with five counts of unlawful surveillance after investigators found he used his cellular device to take the images and recordings, said Trooper AJ Hicks, spokesman for New York State Police. Fatal Truck Crash Causes Massive Delays On I-95 This story has been updated. A fatal tractor-trailer crash caused massive delays on a southbound stretch of I-95 for hours Tuesday morning even though the rig landed off the highway and down an embankment, according to the Connecticut State Police. ID Released For Local Woman Found Dead In Rippowam River A 67-year-old Stamford woman whose body was found floating in the river near the Trump building has been identified. Eru Zhang, 67, was found dead around 1 p.m. Sunday in the Rippowam River in Mill River Park, said Stamford Police Lt. Eric Scanlon. Zhang is believed to have entered the water near her home on Vernon Place, police said. "At this point, her death looks to be either suicide or accidental," he said. "We are still waiting for the Medical Examiner's report."

Newly Released Stats Show Increase In Auto Thefts, Larcenies From Vehicles In Greenwich Greenwich Police said new stats show that an increase in the number of motor vehicle thefts is up this year. To date there have been 52 reported car thefts, said Greenwich Police Lt. John Slusarz. "The vast majority of these involved situations where the vehicles were unlocked and the keys were in them," Slusarz said. In addition, the department has seen an increase in the number of vehicle burglaries with 88 reported incidents so far this year. Man Stole Relative's Credit Card To Make Purchases In Haverstraw, Police Say A 43-year-old Stony Point man is facing multiple charges after alleging making purchases with a credit card stolen from a relative. Phillip DeSimone, 43, was arrested around 1 p.m. Wed., Oct. 31, for grand larceny and criminal possession of stolen property after stealing a relative's credit card to make unauthorized purchases in Haverstraw, said Stony Point Police Lt. Daniel Hylas. He was released on his own recognizance and is scheduled to appear in court on Dec. 4.

Police Seek Public's Help In IDing Woman Struck, Killed By Car While Walking On Roadway Police are asking for help identifying a woman who was hit and killed while walking along Route 17 in Glastonbury. Glastonbury Police found the woman around 6:18 Tuesday on Main Street/Route 17, in the area of Water Street. The woman was transported to Hartford Hospital by EMS personnel where she died.
