Investigation Into Possible Theft Underway After Mailbox At Greenwich Post Office Found Damaged Postal officials are investigating after the blue drop-off mailbox at the Old Greenwich Post Office was found damaged on Thursday. Police, who said the Postal Service is handling the investigation, do not know at this time if any mail was stolen. Residents and businesses who may have used the box at this location should follow-up with the recipients of their mail to confirm that it has been delivered. Family Of Four Escapes House Fire In Norwalk A Norwalk family escaped injury when a fire started in the ceiling of their home Wednesday evening. The four, including two children, evacuated the home when they smelled smoke around 6:30 p.m. at 61 Rampart Road, and called 911, said the Norwalk Fire Department. The father then went back inside the home to attempt to put out the fire with a garden hose before firefighters arrived, but had to leave as the smoke charged the attic space and started to fill the house, the department reported. Several Carcasses Believed To Be Dogs Found In Fairfield Home, Police Say Several dead animals believed to be dogs were found at a Fairfield home after police received a report of animal cruelty. The animal remains were found around 4 p.m. Wednesday after the Fairfield Police Department responded to Prince Street, for a report of animal cruelty, said Fairfield Police Lt. Robert Kalamaras. Officers responded to find several animal carcasses, which are believed to be canine remains, in crates within the residence, he said. The robbery took place around 8:45 a.m. at the Chase Bank located at 61 Smith St. in Nanuet, said Clarkstown Police Det. Peter Walker. Police Asking Public For Help In Finding Suspects In Halloween Homicides In Bridgeport Bridgeport Police are asking the public for help in locating a car and the people responsible for gunning down two residents on Halloween. The murders took place around 11 p.m., Oct. 31, in front of 848 Maplewood Ave., killing 41-year-old Myoshi Bagley, a mother of two, and David Belle, 28, said the Bridgeport Police. Police report that the shots were fired from the passenger side of a green Mazda MPV minivan. One Person Hospitalized Following Fire At Two-Family Residence In Bridgeport One person was hospitalized following a kitchen fire at a two-story, two-family residence in Bridgeport. The call for the fire came in around 10:40 a.m. Wednesday at 54 Ives Court, said Bridgeport Fire Assistant Chief Rich D'Onofrio. When firefighters arrived they found a kitchen fire on the second floor which seemed to be fueled by natural gas, the chief said. The one resident of the home was outside when the department arrived on the scene and was suffering from either smoke inhalation or a brunt throat, officials said. Blood Found On Metro-North Train Platform Under Investigation By MTA Blood found on a Metro-North train platform is being investigated by the MTA Police.The substance was first reported Tuesday evening on the Beacon station platform. After the report, MTA Police were called to investigate the substance that appears to be blood, MTA officials said. Westchester Man, 27, Killed By Girlfriend's Jealous Ex-Boyfriend In Double Homicide, Police Say A 27-year-old man from Westchester was found shot to death along with his girlfriend in a double homicide committed by a jealous ex-boyfriend, police said. Michael Tarulli of Irvington and his girlfriend Jenny Koonoolal-Jagdeo, 32, were found dead in different rooms of a Florida apartment on Thursday, Nov. 8, according to the Miami-Dade police. Woman With Active Warrant Taken Into Custody In Wilton A 25-year-old woman was arrested by Wilton Police on an active warrant while being interviewed in connection with another case. Rachel Ragone, of Kings Park, was arrested Tuesday, Nov. 6, after police learned she was wanted an active warrant for failure to appear for automobile charges in 2016 in Fairfield, said Wilton Police Lt. Robert Kluk. She was processed and released on $1,000 bond. Ragone is scheduled to appear in court on Nov. 16.
