Two Shot In Broad Daylight In City Of Poughkeepsie Two men were shot in broad daylight, one an innocent bystander, during a shooting in the City of Poughkeepsie. The incident unfolded around 3:23 p.m. Monday, when the City of Poughkeepsie Police received calls reporting a shooting at S. Cherry and Church streets, said City of Poughkeepsie Police Det. Lt. Man Dies From Injuries Week After Shooting At Tractor-Trailer Training Center In Bridgeport A 28-year-old man who was shot multiple times, including once in the head, last month at the New England Tractor-Trailer Training School in Bridgeport has died from his injuries. Eric Salters, of New Haven, was shot by a lone assailant around 11:30 a.m., Jan. 26, at the school, 510 Barnum Ave., said Terron Jones, spokesman for the Bridgeport Police Department. Support Pours In For Wife, Children Of Coast Guard Member From Area Killed In Accident Friends and family members are working to raise funds through a GoFundMe for the family of a U.S. Coast Guard member who was killed last week during a crane accident while on duty in Alaska. Woman Who Drove Towards Cops Flees Before Getting Caught After Route 9W Crash, Police Said A woman who allegedly drove towards police officers and fled before crashing following a domestic dispute was arrested in Newburgh. 34-Year-Old Shot Mulitple Times In Bridgeport A 34-year-old man who was shot multiple times in Bridgeport is recovering following surgery. Police learned of the man's attack after he was dropped off at the emergency room of Bridgeport Hospital by a private vehicle, said Terron Jones, spokesman for the Bridgeport Police Department. ID Released For Woman Allegedly Killed By Ex-Husband In Fairfield A woman who was allegedly shot and killed by her ex-husband has been identified by Fairfield Police. Suspect Wanted For Sexual Assault Of Minor Caught While Attempting To Drive Onto I-95 An area man was caught driving onto I-95 attempting to escape after being identified as a suspect in the sexual assault of a minor. Two Nabbed In Stamford Grandparent Scam Two men were nabbed after a brief police pursuit for accepting a package from UPS containing mone they thought was part of a "grandparent" scam. The incident began when the Stamford police were contacted by detectives from Virginia regarding a financial scam, said Stamford Police Capt. Richard Conklin. Search On For Suspects Who Tried To Lure Child In Suffern, Police Say Police are on the hunt for the suspects who allegedly attempted to lure a child into a vehicle in Suffern The incident took in the early afternoon Saturday in the Foxwood area of Suffern while a boy was walking his dog, the Suffern Police said on Facebook. Deer Rescued After Getting Stuck On Lake Zoar Firefighters helped save a life on Sunday, of a deer, stuck on the ice. The incident took place around 11 a.m. when members of the Stevenson department received a call about a deer stuck on the ice on Lake Zoar in Monroe, the fire department said on Facebook. The deer, who was about 500 feet out, or halfway across the lake when rescuers arrived on the scene, had fallen and could not get back up after trying repeatedly.
