Intoxicated Man Arrested Driving With Dog On Roof In Nanuet, Police Say
A Nanuet man was nabbed for DWI after police pulled him over for driving with a dog on the roof of his vehicle.
Elvin Mejiagomez, 35, was arrested around 2:20 p.m. Monday, Feb. 4, after a Rockland County Sheriff's patrol officers, observed Mejiagomez driving a vehicle in Kennedy Dells Park with his dog on the roof, creating a hazardous situation, the department said.
Once stopped, deputies found that Mejiagomez was allegedly driving drunk and had alcohol in the vehicle, the Sheriff's Office said.

Big News: Location Change For HBO Series Auditions Being Held In The Area
Expecting a huge turnout, officials responsible for casting parts for the HBO series "I Know This Much Is True," starring Mark Ruffalo, have changed the venue for auditions.
Rakesh Shah with Rita Powers Casting said auditions will now be held from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 23, at the Mid-Hudson Civic Center, 14 Civic Center Drive in Poughkeepsie.
Auditions had originally been planned to be held at a smaller facility, 22 IBM Road in the Town of Poughkeepsie.
The series, which is based on the Wally Lamb book titled the same, will begin filming in March …
Ex-Boyfriend Arrested In Connection To Homicide Of Westchester Woman, 24, Found In Greenwich
Greenwich and New Rochelle police have arrested a former boyfriend in the murder of Valerie Reyes, the Westchester woman who was found dead bound and stuffed inside a suitcase in a wooded Greenwich area.
On Tuesday, Feb. 12, New Rochelle Police detectives, accompanied by Greenwich Police detectives, arrested Javier DeSilva, of Queens, in New York who had fraudulently used Reyes’ ATM card, said New Rochelle Police Capt. Cosmo Costa.
Reyes, 24, was found dead on the morning of Feb. 5, just off Glenville Road in Greenwich, said Greenwich Police Capt. Robert Berry.
