She spent 17 years at Florida Today in Melbourne, Florida as a general assignment reporter, crime reporter, entertainment reporter and restaurant critic. She worked four years at Hometown News as a general assignment reporter, then another two years at Spacecoast Daily in Cocoa Beach, Florida. She attended Eastern Florida State College in Melbourne, Florida.

Dogs Stuck In Icy Hudson River Rescued Two dogs who were out for a day of adventure were rescued after they became stranded on the ice on the Hudson River in the area of Parker Avenue in Ulster County. Members of the Esopus Fire Department responded to the area around 3 p.m. after receiving word of the stuck dogs, the department said on their Facebook page. Once firefighters arrived and confirmed the dogs were on the ice without access to retrieve them, they went to work along with the Rifton Fire Department with their ice rescue team and the Town of Esopus Volunteer Ambulance Squad, the department said. Fugitive From Justice Nabbed In Stamford A man on the run from cops in Palm Beach County, Florida for identity theft was nabbed in Stamford following a tip. Gerardo Taboada, 57, was captured around 8:30 a.m. Thursday after Stamford Police received a tip from the Palm Beach Sheriff's Office that he may be living in an apartment, said Stamford Police Capt. Richard Conklin. Taboada, who was also serving a probation sentence in Stamford, was quickly located through his probation officer living in a basement apartment on Plymouth Road. Man Found Near Curb With Gunshot Wound In Newburgh The City of Newburgh Police responding to a "shot spotter" activation found a man near a curb with a gunshot wound to the chest. New Director of Fire, Emergency Services Named In Rockland Christopher Kear, the Deputy Fire Coordinator for Rockland County has been named Director of Fire and Emergency Services. Man Threatens To Shoot People In Restaurant After Fight, Police Say A 28-year-old man who allegedly punched another diner in a Portuguese restaurant and then came back and threatened to shoot people inside was arrested. Westchester Woman Caught Shoplifting At ShopRite, Police Say A Westchester woman was arrested for allegedly shoplifting at the ShopRite store in Connecticut. Tracy Larmonie, 24, of Mount Vernon, was arrested on Wednesday for larceny, interfering with an officer, and possession of narcotics, said Milford Police Officer Joseph Dempsey. Student Charged With Assaulting Teacher At Newburgh Free Academy A 17-year-old was arrested for allegedly attacking a teacher at the Newburgh Free Academy.
