She spent 17 years at Florida Today in Melbourne, Florida as a general assignment reporter, crime reporter, entertainment reporter and restaurant critic. She worked four years at Hometown News as a general assignment reporter, then another two years at Spacecoast Daily in Cocoa Beach, Florida. She attended Eastern Florida State College in Melbourne, Florida.

Man Charged With Rape After Incident At Hotel In Orangeburg, Police Say A 34-year-old area man was arrested for rape Thursday after turning himself into Orangetown Police detectives. Felix Francois of Spring Valley was charged with third-degree rape and sexual misconduct following an investigation into an incident that took place on Feb. 3 with a 20-year-old woman, said Orangetown Police Det. Sgt. James Sullivan. New Canaan Woman’s Animal Cruelty Charges Upgraded To Felonies The past president of a New Canaan dog rescue group charged with misdemeanor animal cruelty following the discovery of five dead dogs in her home had the charges upgraded to felonies during a hearing in Superior Court this week. Heidi Lueders, 31, of New Canaan, was first arrested for the crimes following the discovery of five dead dogs in crates at a Fairfield home in November 2018 by Fairfield Police. ID Released For Man Pulled From Pond In Bridgeport Police have identified the man who was pulled from Bunnells Pond in Beardsley Park in January. James Freeman, 50, of Bridgeport, was found in the water after a passerby call 911 around 11 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 31, said Bridgeport Police. He was pronounced dead at the scene after being pulled unclothed and frozen from the pond. In January police said there were no indications of foul play even though his clothes were found with a small amount of blood on them. Suspect On Loose After Bank Robbery In Rockland The FBI Safe Streets Task Force and the Ramapo Police Department are offering a reward for help identifying a bank robbery suspect. Investigators say a man went into the Chase Bank in Ramapo, on Jan. 24, demanded money from the teller, and threatened to set off a box he claimed was filled with explosives, the FBI said. Investigators say the robber left with a large number of new $2 bills with sequential serial numbers. Cabbie Robbed By Four Masked Men In Westchester, Police Say Yonkers police are on the hunt for four suspects involved in an armed robbery of a cab driver. The incident took place around 7:52 p.m. Wednesday near 510 Midland Avenue, said Yonkers Police Det. Sgt. Dean Politopoulos. According to police, four men wearing ski masks used a gun to rob the cab driver and then fled. Police said they don't have much information and that the incident is under investigation.

Massive Search Of Northern Westchester Reservoir Follows Report Of People, Dog In Trouble Multiple reports of a group of people and then a dog on the ice who went missing on the Muscoot Reservoir in Northern Westchester set off a massive ice search that lasted more than four hours. Valerie Reyes Murder Suspect Was In Country Illegally, ICE Says Javier Da Silva was in the country illegally when he allegedly bound and stuffed the body of 24-year-old Valerie Reyes of Westchester in a suitcase and dropped it in a wooded area of Greenwich, according to officials with the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) in New York. State Trooper Injured After Teen Driver Rear-Ends Police Cruiser On I-84 A state police trooper who was helping a disabled motorist received minor injuries when his cruiser was hit on I-84 by an 18-year driver. Trooper Brett Cook, 30, was injured around 10:30 p.m. Tuesday while stopped with his emergency lights going on the right shoulder of I-84 westbound about a mile west of Exit 59 in East Hartford when another vehicle lost control and slammed into his cruiser, said the Connecticut State Police.
