Suspect Arrested In Connection With 2016 Greenwich Burglary Police have made an arrest in connection with a 2016 burglary in the Byram section of Greenwich. Darren Simpson, 53, of Poughkeepsie, was extradited from the Westchester County Jail on Tuesday, Feb. 26, in connection with the Oct. 18, 2016 robbery on North Water Street, Greenwich police said. He was charged with burglary and criminal mischief.   Simpson is being held on $150,000 bond.

Two Dogs Die During Monroe House Fire Two dogs died and one firefighter suffered minor injuries during a house fire that broke out in Monroe early Wednesday morning. The fire started around 8 a.m., on lower Pepper Street, said Deputy Fire Chief Kevin Catalano.  When firefighters arrived on the scene they found heavy fire and received reports of a possible person trapped inside, the chief said.
