Five Arrested After Raid Of Westchester Fentanyl, Heroin Factory This story has been updated. Five people were busted during a raid of a fentanyl and heroin factory in Westchester early Friday. The arrests took place around 10:30 a.m. Friday at a home on Euclid Avenue in Ardsley, said Drug Enforcement Administration spokeswoman Erin Mulvey. According to Mulvey, the DEA’s Tactical Diversion Squad executed a search warrant at the home where five people were arrested and approximately five kilograms of fentanyl and six kilograms of heroin were seized. Man Charged With Mailing Letters With White Powder To Federal Offices In NY, CT An area man has been arrested for mailing letters with white powder along with a note implying the substance was Anthrax to federal offices in New York and Connecticut. Jason Pantone, 34, of Hyde Park, was arrested Wednesday, Feb. 27, and appeared in court in Albany on Thursday on charges of conveying false information and hoax, said the U.S. Attorney Grant Jaquith. Pantone is accused of using the U.S. mail to send envelopes containing white power to locations in New York and Connecticut. Bone Found At Seaside Park Not Human, Police Say A bone found at Seaside Park on Thursday, Feb. 28 in Bridgeport has been determined not to be human. Bridgeport police rushed to the scene after a call came in around 3:43 p.m. Thursday from a person saying they believed they had found a human bone on the beach. A marine unit and a patrol officer responded to the site, along with detectives. The bone was spotted near the P.T. Barnum statue, police said. Early Friday, Capt. Brain Fitzgerald said the bone has been determined to be a pig bone and that no other investigation would be necessary.

Poughkeepsie Attorney Resigns, Disbarred Amid Misconduct Allegations An area attorney who was suspended last year has been disbarred by the state Supreme Court after offering his resignation. Michael R. Varble of Poughkeepsie was suspended on July 9, 2018, following accusations that he kept more than $32,000 in client fees who ceased doing business with his firm, according to court documents. Wappingers Falls Man High On Heroin Crashes Into Popular Town Of Poughkeepsie Pub, Police Say A Wappingers Falls man was arrested for driving while under the influence of drugs after smashing his vehicle into Paula's Public House in the Town of Poughkeepsie. 11 Charged In Takedown Of Major Area Heroin Trafficking Ring A large dent was made in the heroin trade in Rockland County with the takedown of 11 people, including several who acted as major dealers. Number Of Confirmed Measles Cases Rises Again In Rockland The number of measles continues to rise in Rockland County as officials work to battle the spread of the disease. Currently, there are 139 confirmed cases of measles within the county. The confirmed cases are the total number of cases since the outbreak began in October 2018, and not all are active cases, said the Rockland County Department of Health. Man Stole $6K Worth Of Eyeglass Frames In Westport, Police Say A man who allegedly stole 12 pairs of eyeglass frames worth more than $6,000 from a Westport store was identified by a tip on a police department's Facebook page. Jorge Velez, 34, of Bridgeport, was arrested for the July 3, 2018, theft on Feb. 11, said Westport Police Lt. Jillian Cabana.
