Drunk Driver Crashes Into Guardrail In Stony Point, Police Say A Stony Point man was nabbed for alleged aggravated DWI after crashing into a guardrail. Anthony Hewitt, 50, was arrested around 9:45 p.m. Sunday, March 3, after Stony Point Police officers responded to a call of a one-vehicle crash into a guardrail on Reservoir Road in Stony Point, said Stony Point Police Lt. Drivers ID'd After Car Crashes Into Newtown Restaurant Police have identified the drivers involved in a crash that ended with one of the vehicles inside the front of a popular Newtown restaurant on Monday. Man Killed In Connecticut Avenue Shooting Police are investigating the shooting death of a 34-year-old man on Connecticut Avenue. The unidentified man was shot once around 9:42 a.m. Tuesday, March 5, in the area of 5th Street, said Bridgeport Police Capt. Brian Fitzgerald. The man was struck in the torso and collapsed at the scene. Bridgeport Fire Department personnel arrived on the scene one minute later and requested that police and medics respond to their location, Fitzgerald said. Family Pets Killed In Beekman House Fire A family lost several pets after a fire ravaged a Beekman home while nobody was home. The fire began around 6 p.m. Monday, March 4, at 65 Pleasant Ridge Road, said Beekman Fire Chief Greg Rayburn. Rayburn said the dogs and cats perished, most likely from smoke inhalation, the chief said. He was not sure of the number of animals. Beekman firefighters were on the scene of the fire until after 12:30 a.m., he added. A cause of the fire is under investigation. The home received extensive damage from smoke and water, he added. Three Found Unconscious Due To CO Exposure Transported To Westchester Medical Center This story has been updated. Three people found unconscious by a family member in a home in the village of Airmont are still hospitalized. The incident took place around 10:57 a.m. Tuesday, March 5, when the Ramapo Police Department responded to the home at 4 Bolger Lane in Airmont, said Ramapo Police Lt. Chris Franklin. Once on the scene, four officers and EMS personnel found three female residents, ages 14, 16, and 54. Women Attack Man With Hammer, Burglarize Apartment In Monticello, Police Say Two Monticello women were arrested after allegedly attacking a man with a hammer and then burglarizing his apartment. Kaivena Woodall and Tylajah Jordan, both 22, were arrested on Monday, Feb. 25, following an investigation into the crime that took place on Feb. 6, said the Village of Liberty Police. Several Displaced During Norwalk Apartment Fire Several people were displaced by a fire at a Norwalk apartment house. Norwalk firefighters were dispatched around 9 a.m.Sunday, March 3, to 20 Paradiso St., for a report of smoke coming from the house, said Norwalk Fire Department Deputy Chief Albe Bassett.
