Pilot Reports Engine Failure Before Helicopter Crash The pilot of a 1989 Bell 222A helicopter that crashed in the area said the chopper experienced an engine failure causing the crash and for the helicopter to overturn. The crash took place around 12:38 p.m., Saturday, March 30, near 77 Youngblood Road in Bullville, just west of I-87 in the Town of Crawford in Orange County. The six onboard, five passengers, who were celebrating a birthday, and the pilot, suffered minor injuries, Crawford Police said. Infiniti Driver Nabbed For Drugs After Passing On Right On Route 7, Wilton Police Said A Stamford man was arrested on alleged drug charges after officers watched him passing vehicles on the right-hand side of Route 7 (Danbury Road) in Wilton, Wilton Police said. Adhemar Leonardo, 20, was arrested on Monday, March 18, after he was seen driving a black 2009 Infiniti G37 southbound on Danbury Road and accelerated, moved into the right-hand lane and then passed another vehicle as the southbound lanes merged into one, said the Wilton Police Department. Death Toll For Flu Season In CT Hits 57 As the flu remains widespread across the state, the Connecticut Department of Public Health announced two more deaths, bringing the total number this season to 57. According to the state's weekly flu report, of the 57 deaths, 37 of the people were 65 or older, 15 were between the ages of 50 and 64, four were between 25 and 49, and one was between the ages of 5 and 17. Stamford Babe Ruth President Arrested For Allegedly Ripping Off Organization Funds The president of the Stamford Chapter of the Babe Ruth Girls Softball league has been arrested for allegedly ripping off funds from the organization for his private use. Charles R. NY Nears Statewide Ban On Plastic Bags For those of you still holding hopes using plastic bags, the budget vote by state lawmakers may be the end of those pesky bags for good. Lawmakers have until Sunday to come together on a final budget for the new fiscal year which begins Monday, April 1 and a state-wide ban on the bags is pretty much a done deal. Two Arrested In Monroe Town Hall Assault Police have arrested a second man in connection with an alleged assault outside of Monroe Town Hall. The incident took place around 10:13 a.m., Thursday, March 28, when police were dispatched to Town Hall to investigate a report of a possible assault in progress involving a handgun, said Monroe Police Chief Alex Melchiorre.
