Dozens Of Shots Fired In Bridgeport, Three Vehicles Struck
Three vehicles were struck when dozens of shot were fired in Bridgeport over the weekend.
Bridgeport police received a report of shots fired around 6:48 p.m., Saturday, March 30, at Knowlton Street, and Armstrong Place, said Rowena White, spokeswoman for the Bridgeport Police Department.
Officers responded and recovered 24 spent shell casings consisting of 40 and 9mm calibers on Armstrong Place, she said.
Three parked vehicles were struck by gunfire but no injuries where reported, White added.

ID Released For Man Shot, Killed While Sitting On Front Seat Of Vehicle In Stamford
Stamford Police have identified a man who was shot and killed while sitting in the front seat of a vehicle.
Stephon Walthrust, 26, of Queens, was discovered in the driver seat of a vehicle around 10:45 p.m., Saturday, March 30 on Garden Street, said Stamford Police Lt. Tom Scanlon.
Walthrust, who had been shot multiple times, was transported to Stamford Hospital and later died, he added.
The State Office of the Chief Medical Examiner has conducted an autopsy that determined Walthrust had sustained multiple gunshot wounds to the upper body, Scanlon said.

Councilwoman's Son Among Three Shot At Funeral In Bridgeport
The son of a Bridgeport city councilwoman is one three people who were shot outside of a funeral.
Bridgeport police said the three people shot around 8 p.m., Saturday, March 30 were Dennis Moye, 48, son of Councilwoman Denese Taylor-Moye (D-131st); Ronnie Pernell, 40, and Christopher Nichols, 38, according to Rowena White, spokeswoman for the city.
