Rare Seal Sighting: Young Calf Spotted On Beach In Fairfield There was a real "wildlife" treat when a harp seal decided to sun itself for several hours on the Long Island Sound in Fairfield County. One Seriously Injured When Car Hits School Bus Head-On, Stamford Police Said An area woman is undergoing surgery after her car hit a school bus head-on in Stamford, police said. The incident took place around 12:21 p.m., Thursday, March 28, at 765 Newfield Ave., said Stamford Police Sgt. Jeff Booth with the Collision Analysis & Reconstruction Squad. Widow Describes Sandy Hook Husband As Her 'Champion' Three days after the death of her husband, Jeremy Richman, his wife, Jennifer Hensel, called the Sandy Hook father her "champion," in a letter posted on a GoFundMe page. Parents Will Be Held Accountable If They Violate Rockland State Of Emergency, County Exec Says Under Rockland County's new state of emergency addressing the "measles outbreak," parents could face a misdemeanor charge and be fined if their unvaccinated child violates the declaration. Prisoner Bus Breaks Down On I-87, Stranding Inmates A group of prisoners from the Orange County Correctional Facility being transported in a bus had to be brought back to the jail in vans after the bus broke down on I-87 leaving them stranded. The incident took place around 8:46 a.m., Thursday, March 28, northbound on the interstate in Wallkill, said Capt. Paul Arteta with the Orange County Jail. Item Deemed As Possible Bomb Threat Investigated At FBI Office In Westchester An FBI office in Westchester was cleared following an investigation of an item that was deemed as a possible bomb threat. According to FBI Spokeswoman Amy Thoreson, "an item determined to not be any threat," she said. The office is located on Midland Ave., in Rye. Water Main Break Closes Major Roadway In Beacon A water main break has closed a major Beacon roadway for at least the next several hours, Beacon Police said. The break at 388 Fishkill Ave., has closed the road for a long stretch from Blackburn Avenue to Prospect Street, police said around 9:45 a.m. Thursday, March 28. Bridgeport Man Busted On Weapons Charges Following Chase, Stratford Police Said A Bridgeport man was busted by Stratford Police for allegedly throwing a gun out of his vehicle during a police chase, police said. Eris Hall, 22, was arrested by Stratford Police around 10 p.m., on Tuesday, March 26, after taking police on a car chase, said Stratford Police Capt. Frank Eannotti.
