Prisoner Bus Breaks Down On I-87, Stranding Inmates A group of prisoners from the Orange County Correctional Facility being transported in a bus had to be brought back to the jail in vans after the bus broke down on I-87 leaving them stranded. The incident took place around 8:46 a.m., Thursday, March 28, northbound on the interstate in Wallkill, said Capt. Paul Arteta with the Orange County Jail. The bus, owned by Transcor, which transports inmates state-to-state, became disabled and had to pull over near mile marker 22.8. Item Deemed As Possible Bomb Threat Investigated At FBI Office In Westchester An FBI office in Westchester was cleared following an investigation of an item that was deemed as a possible bomb threat. According to FBI Spokeswoman Amy Thoreson, "an item determined to not be any threat," she said. The office is located on Midland Ave., in Rye. Water Main Break Closes Major Roadway In Beacon A water main break has closed a major Beacon roadway for at least the next several hours, Beacon Police said. The break at 388 Fishkill Ave., has closed the road for a long stretch from Blackburn Avenue to Prospect Street, police said around 9:45 a.m. Thursday, March 28. Water department and transportation officials are on the scene working to fix the break, police said. Motorists are advised to use alternate routes. Traffic Backed Up For Miles On I-95 Following Tractor-Trailer Crash Traffic is still moving at a crawl on I-95 in Westport following a tractor-trailer rollover crash that injured one person. Bridgeport Man Busted On Weapons Charges Following Chase, Stratford Police Said A Bridgeport man was busted by Stratford Police for allegedly throwing a gun out of his vehicle during a police chase, police said. Eris Hall, 22, was arrested by Stratford Police around 10 p.m., on Tuesday, March 26, after taking police on a car chase, said Stratford Police Capt. Frank Eannotti. Man Nabbed For Kidnapping, Sexual Assault In Greenwich A former Stamford resident wanted for a kidnapping and sexual assault in Greenwich after posing as a driver for a ride-sharing app has been extradited from Kansas City to face charges. Norwalk Dairy King Broken Into Twice In One Week After 43 years in business in Norwalk without any problems with crime, the owner of the Dairy King has been the victim of an attempted burglary twice in the last two weeks.
