10-Vehicle Crash With Numerous Injuries Shuts Down Busy Route 9 Stretch In Northern Westchester A 10-vehicle crash on Route 9 caused numerous injuries, including from victims trapped in a burning car, and closed the highway in Northern Westchester for at least an hour. The crash took place around 10:46 a.m., Wednesday, May 8, near Main Street in Peekskill, said Peekskill Police Det. Sgt. Jack Galusha. Woman Nabbed On Violation Of Probation, Possession Of Drugs A 29-year-old woman who allegedly violated her probation was busted with cocaine and other drugs following an investigation into her whereabouts. Lauren Soto, of the town of Wallkill, was arrested on April 25, by investigators with the Orange County Sheriff's Office, and the Orange County Probation Office when located at her place of employment after violating the rules of her probation, said Orange County Sheriff's Office Capt. Man Found Dead Inside Hicksville Home Police are waiting for results from the medical examiner's office in connection with a man who was found dead in a Hicksville home. The report of a deceased male came into the department around 5:44 p.m., Tuesday, May 7, on East Barclay St., said the Nassau County Police Department. Officers responded and found the dead man inside the home, police said. An investigation is underway. Once a cause of death has been determined, police will release additional information. Valley Stream Man Charged With Manslaughter After Fatal Crash A Valley Stream man has been charged with manslaughter and two counts of assault in connection with a high-speed chase that ended in a fatal crash. Dana King, Jr., 23, was arraigned Tuesday, May 7, for the March 18, crash that killed a father of two children, Jim Hayes Jr., 22, of Hempstead, said Nassau County District Attorney Madeline Singas. Wanted Stratford Man Nabbed During Warrant Search A 24-year-old man was arrested following a warrant search of his Stratford home. Travis Walton, of Stratford, was arrested on Tuesday, May 7, following a narcotics search warrant execution at 15 Woodend Road, said Stratford Police Captain Frank Eannotti. Walton is a fugitive who has avoided sentencing for approximately 3 years for weapons and domestic violence offenses, said Eannotti. Man Shot Multiple Times Near Hudson Garden Apartments A 22-year-old City of Poughkeepsie man was shot multiple times in the area of the Hudson Garden Apartments. ID Released For 25-Year-Old Struck, Killed By Car On Sunrise Highway A man who was hit and killed while crossing Sunrise Highway has been identified by Suffolk County Police. Matthew Donadeo, 25, of Lindenhurst, was crossing eastbound Sunrise Highway, near Connetquot Avenue when he was struck in the left lane by a 2017 Audi at 12:07 p.m., Sunday, May 5, said the Suffolk County Police.
