Ex-Substitute Teacher In Area Charged With Rape Of Student A middle school teacher who worked as a substitute in the Hudson Valley, has been charged with allegedly raping a 13-year-old student. Jonathan Pol, 28, a teacher at the Mott Hall Community School in the Bronx, was arrested at 3:15 p.m., Wednesday, May 29, and charged with rape, said the New York City Police Department. Pol reportedly worked as a substitute at numerous area schools including in the Arlington, Pawling, and Dover districts, between 2015 and 2017, the Poughkeepsie Journal said. Body Found In North Amityville Home Police are working to identify a badly decomposed body that was found inside an abandoned North Amityville home. The body was found around 12:15 p.m., Thursday, May 30, in the vacant home on Schliegel Boulevard, said the Suffolk County Police. Homicide detectives were unable to determine the cause of death due to decomposition.  The Suffolk County Medical Examiner will attempt to determine the cause of death and identify the person. Suspect Flees After Trying To Abduct Child From Bus In Bridgeport, Police Say Police are investigating a report that a suspect attempted to abduct a child from a city bus stop. The incident took place around 10 a.m., Thursday, May 30, at Logan Street and Stratford Avenue, said Terron Jones, spokesman for the Bridgeport Police. Man Violates Protective Order After Making Physical Contact With Protected Person, Police Say A Town of Poughkeepsie man was arrested for allegedly violating a protective order and making physical contact with the protected person. Anthony J. Finegan, 50, was arrested on Wednesday, May 22, following a domestic incident on Tuesday, May 21 by having physical contact with the person who has a protective order against him, said Town of Poughkeepsie Police Capt. Kevin Faber. Finegan was charged with criminal contempt, and harassment. He is being held at the Dutchess County Jail in lieu of $2,500 cash/$5,000 bond.
