Man Admits To Forcible Touching Of Teenage Girl In Area
A Wallkill man pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor charge of forcible touching of a teenage girl.
At the time Joseph Retherford, 38, pleaded guilty on Wednesday, May 29, he admitted that on December 28, 2018, he forcibly touched the sexual or other intimate parts of a teenage girl for the purpose of gratifying his sexual desire, while the victim was a passenger in his vehicle, said Orange County District Attorney David Hoovler.
Retherford is scheduled to be sentenced on August 28, he will also be required to register as a sex offender, the DA's Office said.

This Black Bear Is Everywhere: Multiple Sightings Reported In Northern Westchester
A black bear seems to be everywhere in North Salem and Purdys these days from the golf course to an elementary school and a resident's backyard.
North Salem Police Chief Thomas Howley said the sightings began on Sunday, May 26, when a black bear was seen at the PQ Golf Club off Bloomer Road.
On Monday, May 27, the bear was spotted at Purdys' Field around 8 a.m., and was spotted later in the day on Whitter Hill in Purdys, the chief said.

ID Released For Man Found Dead On Side Of Wyandanch Road With Shot In Head
Police have identified a man who was found dead on the side of a roadway in Wyandanch, shot in the head.
Terrance L. Mitchell, 40, of Flatbush, Brooklyn, was found dead by a sanitation worker on the side of Spruce Street, south of Jefferson Avenue, at approximately 7:15 a.m., Thursday, May 30, Suffolk County Police said.
Homicide Squad detectives said Mitchell was shot in the head and it is possible he was killed in an unknown location before being transported and left on the side of the road.
The investigation into his death is continuing.
