ID Released For Woman Killed In Multi-Vehicle Route 9W Crash
Police have released the identity of a woman killed during a mulitple-vehicle crash on Route 9W in the town of Newburgh.
Barbara Moloney, 78, of Marlboro, was killed during a four-vehicle crash that took place around 1:40 p.m., Wednesday, June 19, on Route 9W, north of Lattintown Road, said Town of Newburgh Police Lt. James Nenni.
The other three drivers received treatment for less serious injuries, Nenni said.
The cause of the accident remains under investigation and no further information on anyone else involved is being released at this time, he added.

Speeding Stop, K9 Search Leads To Drug Charges For Northern Westchester Woman In Wilton
A 23-year-old Northern Westchester woman who was stopped for speeding in Fairfield County ended up in handcuffs after a police K-9 allegedly found cocaine in her vehicle.
Ariana Muriqi, of Yorktown Heights, was arrested around 10:35 a.m., Sunday, June 16, after being stopped for traveling 57 mph in a 40 mph zone on Danbury Road at Westport Road, said the Wilton Police Department.
While speaking with Muriqi, officers said she revealed "several indicators," that drugs might be involved. A drug-detecting K-9 was requested at the scene, police said.

Father, Son Arrested For Keeping 18 Dogs In Deplorable Conditions In Brentwood, SPCA Says
A father and son were arrested for animal cruelty by the Suffolk County SPCA after police found 18 dogs living in deplorable conditions in Brentwood.
Oscar Arias Sr., 49, and Oscar Arias Jr., 23, both of 107 3rd St., Brentwood, were arrested on Tuesday, June 18, and charged with animal cruelty for failure to provide proper sustenance, said the SPCA.

Five At Large After Attempted Armed Robbery At Bridgeport Bakery
Police are searching for five masked men who attempted to rob a business at gunpoint.
The incident took place around 4:30 a.m., Wednesday, June 19, when the five suspects, one displaying a weapon, broke in and attempted to rob the Chaves Bakery at 865 Madison Ave. in Bridgeport, said Bridgeport Police Spokesman Terron Jones.
Employees told police that the men, all of them believed to be teenagers, fled in an unknown vehicle, he said.
None of the employees were injured during the attempt.
Bridgeport detectives are investigating the incident, he added
