Former Manhasset-Lakeville Fire Captain Accused Of Stealing Thousands From Department
A former Manhasset-Lakeville fire captain has been arrested for allegedly stealing more than $10,000 from a bank account used by the department.
Alex November, 30, of Glen Cove, was arrested on Thursday, June 20 and charged with grand larceny, 12 counts of falsifying business records, and official misconduct, said the Nassau County District Attorney's Office.

Westchester Man, 28, Stabbed, Killed Outside Family's Food Store, Police Say
A 28-year-old Westchester man was found stabbed to death in front of his family's food store in upper Manhattan.
The incident took place around 8:01 p.m., Wednesday, June 17, in front Dyckman Kwik Stop at 201 Dyckman St., Inwood, said the New York City Police Department.
Police responded to a 911 call for a stabbing and found Mohamed Awadah, of New Rochelle, with a stab wound to the chest, the NYPD said.
He was rushed to Columbia Presbyterian Hospital where he was pronounced dead, they added.

Jogger Finds Body Of Woman Wearing Undergarments In Long Beach, Police Say
The body of a woman was found face down in Long Beach just before dawn, Long Beach Police are reporting.
The body, described as being a woman in her 40s or 50s, was found by a jogger around 5:23 a.m, Friday, June 21 on the beach between Monroe and Lincoln boulevards, said Sgt. Brett Curtis, spokesman for the Long Beach Police Department.
The female, who was found wearing undergarments, was pronounced dead at the scene by the Long Beach Fire Department.

Second Suspect Arrested In Connection To Hempstead Shooting Of Fleeing Victim
A second man has been arrested in connection to a botched shooting attempt in Hempstead that targeted a 54-year-old man.
Trevor Ford, 27, and Kawand Cofield, 40, who was arrested earlier, got into a fight with the unidentified victim, 54, on May 19, about 5:40 p.m., Nassau police said.
“The dispute quickly escalated after (Cofield) displayed a handgun and pointed it at the victim,” police said.
The victim then fled into a building on Terrace Avenue, police said.
Cofield allegedly passed the gun to Ford, who fired two shots at the victim, missing both times, police said.

Man Charged In Murder Of 38-Year-Old In Montauk Park
A Montauk man has been arrested and charged with the murder of another local man found dead in a park with numerous head injuries.
Joseph Grippo, 47, was arrested at 3:47 p.m., Thursday, June 20, for killing Robert Casado earlier this month, said the Suffolk County Police.
Casado, 38, was found around 7:30 a.m., Thursday, June 6, by a person who then called police reporting an unconscious man in Kirk Park, police said.
