One Critically Injured After Two Men Are Shot In Bridgeport Two men were hospitalized, one in critical condition, after being shot in Bridgeport. Police said the two men were hit around 9 p.m. Thursday, July 4 near the intersection of Barnum and East avenues, said Terron Jones, spokesman for the Bridgeport Police. Both men, who were hit in the lower extremities, were taken to Bridgeport Hospital in a private vehicle, Jones said. Jones said one man is listed in critical, but stable condition, and the other man suffered non-life-threatening injuries. No further information was available.

Mother, Son Charged In Connection To Stamford Woman's Death A Stamford man and his mother have been charged with manslaughter in connection with the death of the man's wife last year. Mercedes Martinez, 60, and Hector L. Lopez, 43, both of Stamford, were arrested on Friday, July 5, and charged with manslaughter, said Stamford Police  Lt. Michael A. Noto. Firefighter Injured Battling Rockland House Fire A Monsey home was destroyed by fire as firefighters worked in hot, humid conditions to battle the blaze. The fire started around 3 p.m., Tuesday, July 2, at the home on Mapleleaf Road, said the Ramapo Police Department. Multiple fire departments were called to the scene due to the difficult conditions including working in void spaces due to the construction of an addition to the home, officials said. Seen It? ATV Stolen In Valley Cottage Clarkstown Police are asking the public for help finding a stolen ATV that was parked in the carport of a Valley Cottage home. The 2017 Yahama Raptor 700 ATV was stolen from the home around 1:30 a.m., Thursday, June 13, from Watch Hill Court, said the Clarkstown Police Department. Woman Found Dead By Workers In Stamford Pool Identified A Stamford woman found dead in her backyard pool by a group of painters who had come to paint the home has been identified. Christine Manna, 58, was found dead around 8:30 a.m., Friday, July 5, at her home located at 35 Woodley Road, said Stamford Police Capt. Richard Conklin. Detectives believe there was no foul play, but are waiting for results from the Medical Examiner's Office for confirmation.
