22 Displaced, 10 Pets Rescued As Four-Alarm Fire Breaks Out At Garden Apartments In Westchester A heavy fire displaced at least 22 people and 10 pets at an apartment building in Westchester. The fire started around 4:24 p.m. Sunday, July 7, in the garden-style apartments located at 50 Gateway Road, said Yonkers Fire Department Deputy Chief Daniel P. Flynn. Arriving firefighters encountered a fire in a top floor rear apartment in the complex that quickly spread through a common cockloft area below the roof, Flynn said. Woman Thrown From Porsche During Dispute With Boyfriend Suffers Spinal Fracture, Police Say A woman suffered a spinal fracture after being flung from inside her boyfriend's 2012 red Porsche Panamera. The incident took place around 12:13 a.m. Monday, July 8, in Bridgeport.when the woman was having a dispute with her boyfriend as she was sitting in the right passenger seat, said Terron Jones, spokesman for the Bridgeport Police Department. During the argument, the boyfriend allegedly accelerated to least 60mph abruptly making a right turn, causing the woman to be thrown from the vehicle, landing under a parked pickup truck, Jones said. Dead Rooster Believed To Be Part Of Satanic Animal Sacrifice Found In Smithtown, SPCA Says A $2,000 reward is being offered for anyone with information about a rooster that was used in what is believed a satanic animal sacrifice in Smithtown. The burned, dead bird was found on a path by the lake in Millers Pond County Park on Sunday, July 7, near the Maple and 4th avenues entrance, Suffolk County Police said. Naked Man Seriously Hurt After Jumping Into, Off Pickup Truck Near Ridgefield/Wilton Line A naked man suffered life-threatening injuries after jumping onto a pickup truck and then jumped back off into the roadway while it was moving. ID Released For 22-Year-Old Shot, Killed In Bridgeport On July 4th Police have identified a man who was shot to death July 4th in Bridgeport as a local resident. Richard McDonald, 22, was shot in the Greene Homes housing project, said Terron Jones, spokesman for the Bridgeport Police. McDonald, who had recently been released from prison on drug charges, was the city's 10th homicide of the year. Police did not release additional information on the case, including whether it was drug-related. McDonald was sentenced to four years in prison after being busted for selling drugs in April 2016, court records show.

Woman Arrested After Pulling Out A Knife In Fight At Jericho Hotel, Police Say A 24-year-old woman was arrested for an alleged assault after stabbing another woman in the head and chest during a fight with two children in the room. Horse Rescued After Wandering Onto Sunrise Highway, Police Say A Suffolk County police officer and a sheriff's deputy had an unusual call when they had to rescue a horse who had wandered onto Sunrise Highway. The rescue began around 7:30 a.m. early Monday, July 8, when Highway Patrol Officer Matthew Siesto responded to multiple 911 calls reporting a horse running on westbound Sunrise Highway between exits 57 and 56 in Brookhaven, said the Suffolk County Police. Father, Son Injured During Motorcycle Crash In Area A father and son were injured while out for a motorcycle ride after the father lost control of the vehicle and slid off the highway, police say. The crash took place in Putnam County at around 2:30 p.m. Sunday, June 7, when James Fordham, 54, and his 12-year-old son, Dominick Fordham, were heading eastbound on Route 301 near Forest Court in Kent when a car stopped to make a right turn in front of the motorcycle, said Kent Police Chief Kevin R.
