Lightning Strike During Thunderstorm Starts House Fire In Stratford Lightning struck the chimney of a multi-story Stratford home, starting a fire in the attic. The incident took place late in the afternoon on Wednesday, July 17, when the lightning strike hit the home at 1790-1792 Main St., said Stratford Fire Deputy Chief Brian Lampart. One Hospitalized In Route 6 Crash Between Car, Truck A crash between a car and a truck on Route 6 in Mahopac sent one person to the hospital.  The crash took place around noon, Wednesday, July 17, on Route 6 near Lupi Court, causing police to close one lane of the highway, said Jack Casey of the Mahopac Falls Volunteer Fire Department. Mahopac Fire, EMS and Fire responded, along with an ambulance, which transported one patient to Putnam Hospital.  The cause of the crash is under investigation by the Carmel Police.
