Man Nabbed After Attempting To Lure Young Woman Into Vehicle, Bridgeport Police Say
Police nabbed a man shortly after he allegedly attempted to entice a young woman to get inside his vehicle in Bridgeport.
The attempt took place around 11:12 p.m., Sunday, July 14, when the young woman was walking on Alfred Street, said Terron Jones, spokesman for the Bridgeport Police.
The woman said the man flagged her down and then attempted to get her to agree to enter his vehicle, Jones said.
After refusing, the woman went home and told her mother who then contacted the police, he said.

A married father of two has reportedly been arrested for the murder of a former Northern Westchester resident on the Greek Island of Crete.
The unnamed 27-year-old man has already confessed to killing Suzanne Eaton, 59, who graduated from Byram Hills High School in Armonk in 1977, reported the BCC News.
Eaton, a renowned molecular biologist, was reported missing Tuesday, July 2, after failing to show up for a conference she was attending.

Area Man Chokes, Assaults Woman During Domestic Dispute, Police Say
A Poughkeepsie man has been arrested for allegedly assaulting and choking a woman during a domestic dispute.
Charles Smiling, 45, was arrested on Friday, July 12, after Town of Lloyd Police responded to a domestic violence call, said Lt. James Janso.
Smiling is accused of entering a 29-year-old Highland woman’s apartment and assaulting her, causing serious facial injuries, Janso said.
He was charged with felony burglary, assault, and felony strangulation and is being held at the Ulster County Jail on $25,000 cash/$50,000 bond.

Woman, 18, Injured In Accident At Swimming Hole On Ramapo River
An 18-year-old woman was saved from a remote "swimming hole," during a dramatic rescue by Town of Tuxedo police with the help of others.
The rescue took place around 5:30 p.m., Saturday, July 13, when Tuxedo police received a call that the woman had fallen 35-feet headfirst onto rocks below at a swimming hole known as the "bubbles," on the Ramapo River, said Tuxedo Police Lt. John Norton.
According to Norton, after taking more than an hour to get to the scene due to its remote location, officers had to strip down and swim in 20-foot deep water until finally locating the victim.

Man Confesses To Murder Of Former Northern Westchester Resident In Greece, Report Says
A 27-year-old man has reportedly admitted to the murder of a former Westchester resident on the island of Crete in Greece.
Law enforcement officials said the man was interviewed over the weekend in the death of 59-year-old Suzanne Eaton, the renowned scientist who graduated from Byram Hills High School in Armonk, allegedly confessed to the crime, reported CBS News.
