Body Fluid Issue Keeps Pool Closed In Trumbull As a heatwave covers the area with hot and humid air, Beach Memorial Pool in Trumbull remains closed Monday, July 22, due to a "bodily fluid incident." The incident was discovered Saturday, July 20, when a "loose fecal" matter was discovered in the pool, said the Trumbull Parks and Recreation Department. The pool was closed so it could be treated in accordance with the State of Connecticut Department of Public Health regulations to ensure the safety of swimmers, the department said. Swimmer Who Went Missing In Lake Carmel Found Dead The body of a man who went missing while swimming in Putnam County has been recovered by police. Kent police said they located the body of the 54-year-old Connecticut man floating in the middle of Lake Carmel around 5:30 a.m., Monday, July 22. Sag Harbor Man Charged With Boating While Intoxicated After Three Injured In Crash, Police Say A Sag Harbor man was arrested for allegedly driving a boat while intoxicated after crashing into a dock and then overturning the vessel. Gary Lucas, 66, was arrested around 11:30 p.m., Saturday, July 20, and charged with boating while intoxicated, after crashing into a dock and then flipping the boat, said Southampton Town Police Department Det. Rockland Woman Stopped For Panhandling Allegedly Gives Cops Fake Name A 35-year-old woman was arrested for alleged criminal impersonation after providing police with a false name when stopped for panhandling. Shenettra Franklin of Stony Point was arrested on Sunday, July 14, for allegedly panhandling outside of the Mobil gas station in Stony Pont, said Lt. Daniel Hylas. During an investigation, police found that Franklin had provided them with a fake name and that she was wanted on an active warrant by the Clarkstown Police, Hylas said. EMT Injured In Norwalk Hospital Explosion An EMT was injured when an oxygen tank exploded on a patient's gurney at Norwalk Hospital. The explosion was reported around 7:30 p.m., Sunday, July 21, to the Norwalk Fire Department as a fire in the emergency room, said Norwalk Fire Department Deputy Chief Edward Prescott. When firefighters arrived they learned that an oxygen cylinder/regulator exploded on a transport gurney, Prescott said. Man Wanted For Causing Disturbance At Greenwich Party Turns Himself In, Police Say A man who failed to appear in court on charges of causing a disturbance at a Greenwich party in 2017, turned himself in to police. Darius Juwell Hamlette, 21, of Norwalk, surrendered to Greenwich Police on Wednesday, July 17, and was arrested for failure to appear, said the Greenwich Police Department. Man Throwing Garbage Out Of Car Nabbed For DWI In Rockland, Police Say A man who was allegedly leaving a Stony Point diner and driving drunk was arrested after police caught saw him driving erratically and throwing items out of the window. Man Accused Of Stealing $1,148 In Items From Northern Westchester Lowe's Store A 55-year-old man was arrested for allegedly stealing $1,148 worth of merchandise from a Northern Westchester Lowe's store. Scott Guinee, of Yorktown, turned himself in to police on Thursday, July 18, following an investigation that he allegedly stole the merchandise from the store on June 22, said the Yorktown Police. Man Without License Steals Ex-Wife's Car In Westport, Police Say A Bridgeport man who took his ex-wife's vehicle during a domestic dispute has been arrested by police in Westport. The alleged theft took place on Saturday, April 27, when Westport Police responded to an area home after receiving a call from the victim, said Westport Police Lt. Anthony Prezioso.
