She spent 17 years at Florida Today in Melbourne, Florida as a general assignment reporter, crime reporter, entertainment reporter and restaurant critic. She worked four years at Hometown News as a general assignment reporter, then another two years at Spacecoast Daily in Cocoa Beach, Florida. She attended Eastern Florida State College in Melbourne, Florida.

O&R Customers Set Record For Power Demand During Heat Wave The relentlessly oppressive heat and humidity caused Orange & Rockland customers to break the all-time record for weekend electric demand with peak demand. The company said that as of 6 p.m., Sunday, July 21, customers had used 1,445 megawatts of power. The previous record was set in August 2013, when 1,412 megawatts were used. Area Man Busted For Two Fairfield Burglaries, Police Say Police were able to nab the person allegedly responsible for two residential burglaries after catching the crook on video surveillance in the Town of Fairfield. The burglaries were discovered on Tuesday, July 16, when Fairfield officers responded to 233 Algonquin Road for a report of a residential burglar alarm, said Fairfield Police Capt. Robert Kalamaras. 21-Year-Old Killed By Fallen Tree Limb In Fairfield Was Personal Trainer In Stamford A 21-year-old man killed by a fallen tree limb during a severe storm in Fairfield was a personal trainer in Stratford. Jarrod M. Marotto died Wednesday, July 17, when a large tree limb fell on the driver's side of his vehicle in front of 3595 Park Ave., said Fairfield Police Capt. Robert Kalamaras. When officers responded they found Marotto, of Southington, unconscious in the driver seat, Kalamaras said. Police: Spring Valley HS Locked Down After Father Pepper Sprays Employees During Confrontation A confrontation over a student's medication led a father to allegedly spray a nurse with pepper spray at a day camp program at Spring Valley High School. The incident took place around 8:50 a.m., Monday, July 22, when the Spring Valley Police Department received a call of a man on the campus spraying people with an unknown substance, said Officer Matthew Galli. ID Released For Westchester Woman Killed In Saw Mill Parkway Crash A woman killed in a two-vehicle crash on the Saw Mill Parkway early Sunday, July 21, has been identified as a 29-year-old Westchester resident. Daniella Gore-Johnson of Yonkers was killed around 12:18 a.m., during a collision on the southbound Saw Mill River Parkway in Hastings-on-Hudson, said Kieran O'Leary, spokesman for the Westchester County Police. A preliminary investigation indicates that a 2012 Honda Accord was struck in the rear by a 2017 Lexus RC 350 sedan. The collision sent the Honda off the roadway, causing it to strike a tree. Body Fluid Issue Keeps Pool Closed In Trumbull As a heatwave covers the area with hot and humid air, Beach Memorial Pool in Trumbull remains closed Monday, July 22, due to a "bodily fluid incident." The incident was discovered Saturday, July 20, when a "loose fecal" matter was discovered in the pool, said the Trumbull Parks and Recreation Department. Sag Harbor Man Charged With Boating While Intoxicated After Three Injured In Crash, Police Say A Sag Harbor man was arrested for allegedly driving a boat while intoxicated after crashing into a dock and then overturning the vessel. Gary Lucas, 66, was arrested around 11:30 p.m., Saturday, July 20, and charged with boating while intoxicated, after crashing into a dock and then flipping the boat, said Southampton Town Police Department Det. Rockland Woman Stopped For Panhandling Allegedly Gives Cops Fake Name A 35-year-old woman was arrested for alleged criminal impersonation after providing police with a false name when stopped for panhandling. Shenettra Franklin of Stony Point was arrested on Sunday, July 14, for allegedly panhandling outside of the Mobil gas station in Stony Pont, said Lt. Daniel Hylas.
