Woman Rescued After Falling Into Cesspool Of North Babylon Home A woman was rescued after falling into a cesspool at her home by the quick-thinking actions of several fire departments and police in North Babylon. The incident took place around 4:30 p.m., Wednesday, July 24, when a 77-year-old woman stepped on a cesspool cover at 88 Weeks Road, which then gave way, sending her falling four- to six-feet, said the Suffolk County Police.  The woman fell into the contaminants and sewage and was found approximately two hours later, police said. Driver Crashes Into Health Club In East Meadow A car slammed into the front of a sports club on Long Island, causing damage to the car,  but little to the building. The incident took place at New York Sports Clubs' East Meadow location at around 2:51 p.m., Wednesday, July 24, at 621 Merrick Ave., said the Nassau County Police.  According to police, the unidentified driver lost control of the vehicle and hit the building.  The driver was removed from the vehicle by officers and transported to an area hospital for minor injuries, police said. There was no structural damage to the building, officials said.

Police Cruiser Involved In Crash With Motorcycle In Rockland A police department vehicle was involved in a crash with a motorcycle in Rockland County. The crash occurred 9:30 p.m. on Route 45 in Hillcrest, just north of Williams Avenue in Hillcrest, the Ramapo Police Department said. The motorcyclist was transported to Westchester Medical Center where he is currently in stable condition.  The police officer was transported to Good Samaritan Hospital. He was treated and released, the department said. The Ramapo Police Crash Investigation Unit is investigating.  No further information was available from police.
