Police Investigating Fairfield Avenue Burglary Police are investigating a burglary on Fairfield Avenue in Bridgeport. Police said they received a call of a reported "break-in" around 7:30 p.m., on Monday, Oct. 7, said Terron Jones, spokesman for the Bridgeport Police. Once on the scene, the resident told officers that she did not believe anything was missing or out of place, Jones said. Man Struck By Lirr Train A man who was struck by a train at the Woodside LIRR station was still alive when transported to Elmhurst Hospital.  The incident, which took place around 2 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 9, has caused five cancellations and delays averaging 10 to 15 minutes, said a LiRR spokesman. To help alleviate the delays, the subway system is cross-honoring tickets for passengers at various stations along the line. Woman Behind Bars Following Fights, Punching Officer In Area, Police Say A 65-year-old Ulster County woman is behind bars after allegedly injuring another woman during a fight. Michelle Flanders, of Saugerties, was arrested at  7:32 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 8, after Saugerties Police responded to a fight between two women at 1016 Glasco Turnpike, Saugerties Police Chief Joseph Sinagra said. When officers arrived on the scene they found that Flanders was at the location in violation of an order of protection, the chief said. Westchester Man Killed In Three-Vehicle Crash On Taconic Parkway A Westchester County man was killed following a three-car crash on the Taconic State Parkway in East Fishkill. William Faint, 62, of Yorktown, was killed around 6 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 8, after he pulled in front of two other vehicles on the parkway, said New York State Police Spokesman AJ Hicks. Suspect At Large After Long Island Friendly's Restaurant Robbery Police are searching for a man who allegedly robbed a Friendly's at gunpoint. The robbery took place around 7:23 p.m., Monday, Oct. 7, at the restaurant located at 533 Hawkins Ave., in Lake Ronkonkoma, said the Suffolk County Police. According to police, the man entered the store and demanded cash while displaying a gun. The man described as being 5-foot-7 with a medium build, wearing a red hoodie sweatshirt, a black face mask and glasses, then fled the store with the cash, police said. There were no reported injuries. An investigation is underway.

Driver Crashes Into Northern State Parkway Overpass, Suffers Serious Injuries This story has been updated. One person is in serious condition after hitting a bridge overpass on the Northern State Parkway on Long Island. The crash took place around 9:13 a.m., Wednesday, Oct. 9, when the driver crashed into the bridge overpass at Manetto Hill while traveling westbound in Woodbury, said New York State Police Spokesman Trooper Daniel Ahlgrim.  Ahlgrim said the driver suffered severe injuries.  State Police are still on the scene investigating the crash. Duo Nabbed In Alleged Darien Fraud Scheme Two area men who allegedly cashed checks and used credit cards taken from a girlfriend's father in Darien were nabbed by police in two separate arrests. The scheme was uncovered in June after a Darien resident reported to police that he believed his daughter's boyfriend, Sean Frangione, 42, of Stamford, had stolen checks from his residence, said Darien Police Sgt. James Palmieri.
