IDs Released For Three Killed In I-95 Wrong-Way, Head-On Crash In Eastern Connecticut
The identities of three people killed during a wrong-way driver crash on I-95 in eastern Connecticut have been released.
The head-on crash took place around 8 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 9, in North Stonington, shortly after state police received multiple 911 calls of a driver traveling southbound in northbound lanes from Exit 93, said the Connecticut State Police.
Minutes later, as troopers were en route to find the driver, they received calls of a crash between a 2002 Mercedes CLK, driven by 17-year-old Abigayl Lanphear, and 2017 Honda Accord, driven by Roger Noel.

21-Year-Old Seriously Injured In Shooting 'Uncooperative,' Police Say
Police are searching for leads into a shooting that left an area man with serious injuries.
The shooting took place around 10:52 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 9 in Newburgh the area of William and Renwick streets, said City of Newburgh Det. Lt. Joseph Burns.
Police were alerted to the shooting after receiving a "Shot Spotter," notification, Burns said.
Upon arrival, officers learned that Romeo Herring, 21, had been shot in his abdomen and his leg.
He was transported to St. Luke’s Hospital by a private vehicle and was uncooperative with investigators, Burns said.

Seawall Collapses Sending Forklift, Its Operator Into Greenwich Harbor
No one was injured, but it caused quite a stir when a seawall collapsed sending a forklift, and its operator, into Greenwich Harbor.
The incident took place around 8:10 a.m., Thursday, Oct. 10, when local police, fire, and EMS were dispatched to a construction site at 702 Steamboat Road, on a report that a seawall had given way taking a forklift along with it, said Greenwich Police
The forklift operator was shaken up, and wet, after being helped out of the water by co-workers, but escaped serious injury, said Greenwich Police Lt. John Slusarz.

Woman Arrested For Fraud After Cashing $1.8K Check From Darien Board Of Education, Police Say
A 32-year-old woman was arrested for fraud and larceny after allegedly stealing a check from the Darien Board of Education and cashing it for $1,805.95.
Dara Morrison, 38, of Montville, Connecticut, was arrested by Darien Police on Saturday, Oct. 5, for the alleged crime that took place in July, said Darien Police Sgt. James Palmieri.
The crime came to light after a member of the Darien Board of Education reported receiving a fraud email from the organization's bank saying that one of its checks had been cashed, Palmieri said.
